"Just a few bruises." He already saw that much so she might as well tell him the truth but how does she word it? "Before you get upset they're from a bit of fun. Not, like, 'cuz he was trying to hurt me." Which isn't entirely true. He was certainly aiming to cause some pain, just not necessarily to her.

She doesn't move to join him once everything is replated, she slips up onto the counter and digs in.

"I know." She smiles softly at him. "I care about you too."
