There is something that this place has been giving him - well, a few things, rather - which is the opportunity to meet more people. Not only that, but meet people from everywhere, from different places, from different worlds altogether - heck, even entirely different species. For as weird as things were back home, it's hard to think he'd ever get that opportunity. Beyond that day at the airfield, that is.
Of course, that also raises the question of what'll happen if one day they all manage to go back home. Or if he does. People have said that time stops back there, that, in theory, everything should return to normal, like unpausing a video. But that's a little sad too, isn't it?
