Not a necklace at all, but a length of golden cord that's wrapped around her neck, digging into her skin. The more he looks at her the more he realizes the markers are all there- a torn sleeve, hair slipping from the Gibson girl style, and one shoe missing when she adjusts her ankles.

"A woman." Klaus gulps, then slowly raises a hand to approach her.
"H-Hey there, um. What's your name?"

The young woman starts, as if she herself was not expecting the company, and purses her lips to give him a serious consideration.
"Mary."
"Nice to meet you, Mary. I'm Klaus."
"Charmed..." She doesn't seem particularly thrilled, giving him a cursory glance, judging his fashion choices.
