little girl, little girl, don't lie to me.

WHO: Clementine & Jenny Q!
WHERE: Grocery store.
WHEN: Backdated to 08/23.
WHAT: Two totally normal girls, totally normal grocery shopping.
WARNINGS: Jenny's potty mouth.

[ Jenny had never had any siblings-- not in the way that other girls did. There had been the twin sister once. The evil twin sister. The one that also had reality altering powers and, conveniently enough, wanted nothing more than to completely wipe every single one of Jenny's atoms out of existence. But she didn't really count that. As detached as Jenny is from the idea of normal families, she still has the sense that most people's siblings aren't like that.

But if she'd ever had a sister, maybe it'd feel a little something like this.

She likes Clementine. There's a certain quality about her that reminds Jenny of herself at a similar age. There's this paradox of a child and a grown-up, both in equal parts. It makes Jenny want to get to know her better, in a way that she doesn't usually pursue with other people. She wants to see Clem make it through this alternate universe crap. So, yeah, grocery shopping? No biggie. Jenny Quantum is the Spirit of the 21st Century. She can definitely make grocery shopping work.

She arrives at Clem's place in a flash of electric blue light that opens like a portal before disappearing behind her just as quickly. Her leather jacket still smells faintly of cigarette smoke, but she at least has the decency not to actually smoke around a young girl.

Anybody home?

[ Likewise, there was something uncannily familiar about Jenny that Clementine liked about the other girl immediately. Whether it was the crude language, or general attitude - she wasn't sure. But she reminded Clementine of Jane, and.. that reminded her of home. So she felt a little more comfortable with agreeing to meet the other girl.

It didn't however, make her any less on edge when the flash of light appeared in the apartment. In a flash, she was off of the couch, ready to go for the hatchet in her pocket when she recognized the voice. She held still for a second, and then untensed, straightening from the defensive posture she'd slipped into. ]

Jenny..?

[ Clem appreciates the show of respect; happily, even if a lot of people might just see her as a kid, most seemed to give her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe. ]

Yeah, you did. [ No mention of nearly going for her hatchet either. She leaned on the arm of the couch, looking the girl over curiously. ]

Was that your power? The.. tele-..teleportation?

[ It's a big deal to Clem! People can't just pop in and out of places like magic, back home. ]

I'm ready. [ Oh. They aren't walking? ... well she won't lie, the teleportation idea does sound really neat, and she was curious how people do it. She mentally 'eep'd' at the cautioning, not sure if she was being serious or not. But she stepped closer, already doing a mental checklist.]

What happens if I don't...? [ Not that she wants to test it out and see - no sir. ]
