Sometimes Marco thought he was the only imPort here who had a good relationship with his parents. He loves his parents; he'd die (or kill) for either of them, though his mother holds a special place in his heart. It hadn't occurred to him that it might be a rarity until he ended up here. Still, he knew people like Tobias whose familial relationships were more complicated, so he doesn't nay-say or defend Rupert's father, he just nods.
"At least he didn't hold on until you were in your sixties. Can you imagine trying to enjoy yourself at the ripe old age of 62?" He jokes. Still, one of those vices stood out to Marco, "Duelled? Is that common when you're from?" What a barbaric way of solving problems. No room for planning. Horrible!
He snorts, "Well, I came into a lot of money at 16 and I can't say I've been entirely responsible with it either."
