When she got older, was when Allison was busier. When she got older, and Allison wasn't as patient.
When it was already years past that first slip when she was small and supposed to be have meltdowns.

When Allison had already turned a carte blanche blind eye on her own actions, calling them rare, and understandable. It was revolting to think now how much that made her exactly like her father. Yeas of doing it, now and then, when it was necessary, when she lost her patience, when they were running late, when it was raining, when Claire was whining, when she hadn't didn't slept for days of movie shoots and Claire just wouldn't stop being right underfoot, when she just needed a little push to do something for school, or with friends. Every excuse she'd given.

Luther might have never left, and never managed to be the shadow of their father he most wanted to be.
But she'd gotten out, and she'd taken all of his poison with her. She'd been the mirror of the man she hated.

Allison pressed her shoulder against the wall a little harder, trying to keep herself here. Even if here was worse in all its solid reality. (Here, Claire wasn't.) Most of the regular ones for kids her age, I think? Cartoons, and kid actors. Carebears, and Gummy Bears, and these little gnome-things? Or maybe those were two different ones. Then, pretty much anything with puppets. And princesses.
