Allison holds very still seconds after he finishes. Poised. Ready.

For nothing at all to happen; which just makes her feel annoyed and embarrassed when that's exactly what is happening. Nothing. Like she was a faulty experiment where the data didn't match up. Yes. There was that small flicker of something when he said the first sentence again. But it was nothing like it had felt a few seconds ago.

Was she just blowing this out of proportion? This felt. Idiotic. Uncomfortable.
When had she ever been uncomfortable about or when using her power? Had she ever?

There's a self-conscious frown. The kind she might not even let herself have with anyone else. The kind that really has far less to do with her words, and more to do with what she isn't saying. Writing. I find it hard to believe you and Diego haven't had a fight in over two months, when you couldn't make it two days back at home.

Which isn't the lie. On her behalf, or feel like one on his. It's commentary. It's weird. Especially even more so if it is true. The same could not be said of herself and Diego. Her mind going back to that night he put himself somewhere she'd never wanted him to be. And really a handful of their words exchanged outside of that even, before and after, in any number of situations he had an opinion in. Acerbic Number Two, with knives in his hands and his mouth.
