making an imPact... in Brazil
WHO: Team imPact: Yato, Riptide, Kirk and Apollo.
WHERE: Olinda, Brazil
WHEN: 26th June, night time
WHAT: ImPact's first public appearance in force. Following the Tessie plot, imPact get some intel on an occupied OTO base in Brazil...
WARNINGS: terrorists gettin terrorised
Olinda, Brazil. A bright and sunny coastal city and home to one of Brazil’s best-loved carnivals. A vibrant and historic town, bursting with culture and heritage, surrounded by picture-perfect bright blue sea on the east and sweeping jungle forest to the west. On any other day it would be a perfectly lovely place to visit.
But in the rural outskirts of western Olinda is something altogether different. On a scrubby patch of land edged by warehouses and vacant lots, against a backdrop of patchy jungle forest, sits a barbed wire compound. Locals pass it by without much thought to what it is or why it’s there - nobody seems to know for sure, but it’s always been a presence on this particular abandoned part of town. A dull, grey, easily ignored kind of building, mostly inoffensive, except for how ugly it is against the verdant forest at its back.

On closer inspection the building is... just as grey and boring as it looks. But for a dull office block it has remarkably thorough security, with CCTV and floodlights angled on every possible ground-level approach to the barbed wire walls.
And this is the reason why ImPact are here: this particular compound is a known OTO base, exactly where and as the intel had told them it would be. The lead is solid, which is a really, really good thing considering what the team have planned for this place.
Which is:
Neither teams will have it easy, of course. Inside the building itself, the OTO security measures extend beyond the simple barbed-wire-and-flood-lights exterior it had projected to the world. Inside the building is a completely different level of technological security: laser trip wires, fingerscan door controls, pressure sensitive floor tiles. And security robots much like those that have cropped up in ye olde OTO bases of yore: an entire squadron of six-limbed, bullet proof security droids, equipped with lasers and a stubborn refusal to die. These particular droids seem annoyingly intelligent, too - putting one out of action will teach the others what to do to avoid the same fate.
However, escaping the facility with as much intelligence (and with as little remaining their wake as possible) isn't the end of imPact's first mission. On their return to the USA the team will need to deal with the fallout of going AWOL. And considering just how high impact (!) their activities in Brazil were, lying or coming up with excuses is going to be virtually impossible...

Which is:
Team One: Infiltration & Intelligence-Gathering
The lead made it clear that there was intelligence to be gathered, if imPact go about this correctly. There’s always the danger that a spooked OTO operative might wipe everything at the first sign of attack, so getting Team One into the building safely and quietly is a priority. Luckily, Yato and Kirk are the perfect choice for being sneaky sneaks - especially with Apollo airdropping them in over the compound’s walls at night, away from all that nasty barbed wire and CCTV.
Team Two: Distraction & Destruction
Providing a noisy cover for Team One to do their thing is Riptide and Apollo's job. Because what’s the point in having a thirty foot not-robot and a solarpowered sun god on your team if you don’t get to knock a few buildings down? Once the intelligence has been extracted, Apollo and Riptide are there to make sure that the OTO won’t be back anytime soon, nor will they be able to use any of the precious resources they might have left hanging around.
