Re: Revenants

Talk to absolutely did not mean to control, and it was great wisdom to keep this in mind.

Ruby gave her a smile, merely thinking that the wide-eyedness was just the result of being overwhelmed by being near so many birds at once. That sometimes happened.

"Well. Their initial instinct was just to go to places near, but not on the lake and hope this stopped being an issue. They weren't really organised at the time, so they just didn't want to bother all that much. I got them together, agreed to give them food so they'd help me set up a communications system that let me direct people to where they're needed." She then looks proudly a the geese as one of them makes itself as big as possible and actually seems to scare one of the zombies back into the lake. "Right now I got them to agree to help attack, too, because not only do they really not like the undead, but I'm also offering to stick around for three days to give them food."

There was a particularly loud HOOOOOONK, and Ruby practically danced out of the way as one of the revenant heads was propelled right where she'd been standing. It probably wasn't going fast enough for it to have been painful had she been hit, but who wanted to get smacked by a corpse's head? Ruby didn't.

It suddenly occurred to Ruby that maybe, just maybe, encouraging hundreds of geese (even if the number in front of them was only a couple dozen, the ones in the air would see and no doubt catch on eventually) to attack humanoid beings wasn't a very wise decision, at least not when the geese were already violent and lived in a tourist area. She'd never actually met a canadian goose until she came to this world, and their particular level of 'I want to beat things up' combined with 'I can absolutely beat things up' was new to her when birds were concerned. At least crows usually had a good reason for mobbing people...
