Annie found there were two advantages to being asked to help with the dunk tanks: one, they were set up with a good angle in on the performance stages, where imPorts were showing off their powers, and two, it required absolutely no people skills on her part. All she had to do was fall, and she was (she thought, almost tempted into a sardonic grin) a little too used to falling.
Annie was wearing an oversized t-shirt with the park's logo emblazoned on the chest and across her back. She even had swim trunks on to deal with the inevitable fall into the water, in their bright blue-green tropical pattern. It was probably the brightest thing Annie had worn in recent memory. She'd spent some time midday helping with the "mining" efforts, simply to understand what they were, and see what the hell continuum looked like in the first place.
Extremely hard rock, as it turned out.
Now she was sitting on the platform, idly kicking her legs as she looked over toward the performance stages. No one had been by to toss anything at her for a while. She was starting to dry out.
