you are a tall glass, a blast from the past
WHO: BAAL and INANNA and PERSEPHONE
WHERE: De Chima
WHEN: Friday night before the Swear-In (backdated)
WHAT: Baal belatedly celebrates his election success with his two favorite people.
WARNINGS: Possible Wicked + the Divine spoilers, canon typical mentions/references to violence and/or death, and probable sexual content and/or discussion thereof. Anything else, will ETA as necessary!
[ In typical fashion, while Baal's intentions are not entirely removed from whatever it is Inanna and Persephone are probably both imagining based on this invitation, he is definitely underestimating the vibe he's given tonight's intimate little party. The truth is, he still doesn't know how he feels about being faced with the reality of both his (ex-)lovers being here, alive and well and very much interested in-- well, something.
Picking up where they left off, maybe, as far as Inanna's concerned, and with Persephone... for Baal that one's a little fresher, but easy enough to mentally separate for the time being. He still looks at her and remembers what it was like to look at Laura, and there's something nostalgic and bittersweet about that. He doesn't know what he wants, really, but he does know he would hate to lose either of them for good again. Whatever that ends up meaning, whatever ends up making the most sense, be it as friends or as lovers or as both-- because he imagines both of them would still require any relationship that might develop to be an open one.
But Baal's much more willing now to find a way to make that work. It's not a deal-breaker, anyway, but he's intentionally not setting himself up with any particular expectations. This is a good start, though; champagne for three in his De Chima office, which has already luxuriously been decorated with picture windows, a black marble desk, deep red guest seating, embedded marble bookcases, and two white couches. The champagne (on ice) and three flutes for it rest on a tray on the desk, ready for company. Ready for anything. ]
