ROAD TRIP
[They'd had to rent a van to fit everyone in comfortably, and Adachi was probably the only one with the attention span to drive for as long as it took to get all the way to Disney World, so... he might look more like a chaperone than anything. Sorry Adachi. Still, he wasn't about to be left out of the festivities! The other Thieves had piled in wherever they felt, and likely would switch it up from time to time at various rest stops, either for food, bathrooms, or maybe even some sight seeing. You didn't think this would be a straight shot, did you?! This is a road trip across America!!! You've GOTTA stop at the Cracker Barrel at least once! And check out those weird little shops you see along the way.

Just try not to bother the driver too much, your lives are in his hands, whether he wants them there or not.]

The Happiest Place on Earth

[You know Disney World. It's a little different in this world, but it's still the theme park you expect of Disney. So many rides, attractions, foods to try, games to play, prizes to win. Someone will probably get sick and that's totally alright because it's worth it.

As usual, every night there are fireworks as well, in case you wanted to go see those. Maybe there's a parade down Main Street in the Magic Kingdom? EPCOT is a full city with so many interesting technologies, but try not to disturb the residents there too much. Or you know. Be disturbed by them, since everyone is an imPort.

The thieves are also most definitely staying in a nice hotel. Hey, you don't take down a supervillain leader every day ok, time to splurge. So check out the hotel and it's no doubt lovely pool and hot tub area, but try not to trash the place. We aren't ROCK STARS, after all.]

[ Road Trip ]
[ About an hour into the trip, Adachi was already wishing he could still toss people into TVs. Granted, it wouldn't have done him much good with his current crew, considering they were all Persona users, but it would have made him feel better. ]

[ He wasn't sure why he didn't just hire someone to do the driving. It had been two years since he drove a car, and now they were expecting him to drive on the wrong side of the rode with a bunch a rowdy kids in the car? Was this his punishment for what he did back home? This was probably about as bad as prison, really. ]

[ The first stop was after three hours out of the nine hour drive, getting tired of hearing the chorus of "are we there yet" and people complaining about needing things like food and a toilet. He pulled over at the first sign of civilization off of I-75: a Cracker Barrel that looked like it had seen better days. He almost drove off, especially as he saw the biker gang pull up, but decided against it. ]

[ They were a troop of people with Personas. What could go wrong? ]

[ Disney ]
[ This is the second time Adachi's been here, but the first time he's had the time to enjoy it, considering there's no one around to squirt fear gas everywhere. He spends time with the kids, of course -- he is, technically, their chaperone after all, and he doesn't mind hanging around with these kids. They weren't obnoxious justice freaks. ]

[ But when he does get the moments to himself, he's enjoying melting in the hot tub with a double tall glass of some kind of chocolate s'more rum and tequila blend. Look, the freaky mouse was fun and all, but this is his idea of a vacation, thanks. ]

1.Road Trip--NAVI
[In all honesty, it made sense to have Futaba in the shotgun. She was a skilled navigator, and taking major highways was nothing compared to the mazes of palaces and the Metaverse. But no one had considered that her being the co-pilot meant she also controlled the radio.

If anyone was hoping to nap during this trip, too bad. Her DJ skills were firmly seated in the "loud and obnoxious" categories. Currently, that meant synthesized J-Pop and rock bands. Her next plan was to go for catchy earworm music. Hope you all like "adieu, adieu, adieu" and "Shucks, I did it Anew". Yeah, off-brand earworms--the worst.]

2. Road Trip--Jesus Take the Wheel
[The best decision ever made on this trip was the one that placed her behind the wheel for a full hour. And by "best", I mean "worst". Driving in real life is nothing like driving in a video game or at the arcade machines. She might have been behind the wheel of an actual car once, several months ago, but that had been with a stranger while helping in Heropa. Here on the open road with friends? She felt a bit too confident. Which meant that Futaba was definitely going too fast, a little too furious, and with just a hint of dodging around traffic.

Anyone who thought her music choices were terrible might want to reconsider that choice. At least that was only damaging your hearing and possibly your brain cells. Her at the wheel was utter chaos.]

3. Disney--The Happiest Place on Earth
[They were finally here. She had been to an amusement park just once, and she could guess this was comparable enough to Destiny Land. She kind of missed the idea of having a park to themselves without all of the crowds, but at least she could hope this trip wouldn't end with horrible news.

Needless to say, the moment they were through security and were released on the park, she grabbed anyone close to her by the hand and made a beeline for the rides. The only question was which one to ride first. Dousing Peak? Objective: Infinity? So many choices.

After the adrenaline rush, Futaba will be a bit calmer, less hurried as she makes her way around the park. She peeks into several shops on Main Street, takes some time to catch pictures with costumed characters and play overpriced games, and of course grabs some delicious, unhealthy amusement park food. Whether you got dragged along from the rides, or happen to run into her after doing your own thing around the park, it's obvious she's having a good time.]

4. Wild Card!

1. Roadtrip
[ Yuri spends most of the road trip tucked away in the back of the van with Yusuke, and most of that time is actually spent on his phone playing whatever phone game he found to download at the last rest stop they were at. But he still has to get out of the van to stretch at the different rest stops, eager to get out of the cramp space and into fresh air where he can chat about whatever sight they've stopped to see, or make snap a few photos on his phone. ]

2. DISNEY
[ They're hERE! AT DISNEY! Yuri's excitement is palpable from the moment they reach the hotel and does not subside until they've gotten a shuttle to the park and passed through the ticket gates—it's like he lets it out all at once in an excited little whoop of joy. Like Futaba, he makes a beeline for the most thrilling of rides—no way is he going to leave this park without going on every single roller coaster he can find. What else are theme parks for?

By the time the first afternoon at the park hits, it looks like he's burned through most of the excited energy. He's content to wander lazily through the park, either on his own or with any of the other thieves that have managed to find him—it's easy enough to keep in touch on their phones and pick out rides or some of the park restaurants to meet up for. ]

[ Yusuke is hungry, but he's not that hungry. Yeah, they all have Personas or can otherwise take care of themselves, but this...looks like a drug money laundering front. ]

Adachi, haven't you seen any American films? If we follow them inside, we are going to get dragged into a fist fight.

[ He just got done telling his roommate that punching is against his aesthetic! ]

Nah... that's not going to happen. We'll be fine.

[ They were just bikers, and it was a public restaurant. It's not like anyone was going to start anything... right? ]

...just don't make eye contact, okay?

[ It's not until this moment that Adachi realizes he makes really poor life choices. ]

[ He clung to his seat so tightly that his knuckles were white, gritting his teeth as he prayed to whatever gods would be listening that if this lead to his death, let it be quick. He wasn't sure what possessed him to let Futaba drive, but he was starting to think he might have been a little drunk without actually drinking. ]

P-please slow down...

[ He wasn't sure if anyone actually heard that pathetic whimper. ]

[Futaba did not, at this moment in time, understand the words "slow" and "down" when used in tandem. And honestly, it would be a miracle if she heard him at all over the music she still had blaring over the radio.

She whipped around another car, obviously not using the fast lane the way it was intended, with a whoop of excitement and a grin stretching from ear to ear.]

This driving thing isn't so hard!

N-no, no it isn't...

[ Especially when you follow the rules of the road and not drive like a lunatic! ]

C-could you maybe, um... n-not d-do that?!

Not do what? [She asks innocently, taking her eyes off the road to look at him. Oh...that was a blaring horn. She winces, eyes back on the road as she swings them safely back into the correct lane.]

Oops...

[ Sorry, Futaba, you're going to have to give Adachi a moment. He looks like his soul took off without the rest of his body; it was probably easy to imagine even Izanagi-no-Yomi going, "I'm out bye." He shook himself out of it after a moment, taking a deep breath, before pointing back to the car they just buzzed past. ]

Don't do that.

[ No eye contact? No problem. He will, however, do his stupid hand portrait thing, which sticks out a lot more than merely glancing over. Are they looking back this way? ]

1. On the road

[If you think Akira wasn't spending half of the ride crawling around in the van, causing as much controlled chaos as he could manage by poking at people from behind their chairs or telling terrible jokes while draped over the back of his own seat. Oh, I'm sorry, did you think he was going to sit in his seat and keep his seatbelt on?

No, the only peace you'll get is when Akira passes out, finally.

He awakens when they stop, hopping out of the car and attempting to burn off some more energy so that he could stop being yelled at to sit down and put his seatbelt on.]

Hey, come with me, let's do a lap! I gotta stretch my legs!

2. Need for Speed

[As soon as they get there, Akira knows exactly what he's going for. But he's not going alone, oh no, and the less you look like you are interested in getting on the scarier rides, the more insistently Akira is tugging on your arm to get you to come along with him.]

Look, just one! Just one, and then we can do anything you want! I'll win you a prize or something, or even go through the tunnel of love or whatever.

3. Run Away With Me- Closed to Goro

[Akira dresses himself in a festive yukata for the first night which he had the chance to get Goro alone for a few hours. He knew about the fireworks, after all, and while maybe it wasn't a very special event for everyone, he really wanted to make it a special event for Goro and himself.

He gives him some time alone in the room before he goes in, attempting to take him by surprise, sneaking up behind him and attempting to just wrap his arms around him before he noticed him enough to stop it or turn around to face him.]

You need any help getting ready?

[Thank god one or two of these people have good taste. Akira finds it is easy to convince Yuri to go on a roller coaster with him and by God he was looking for the biggest, baddest one in the park.

Pointing to one of those ones where you stand up and there are loops, Akira pulls off his glasses.]

Bet you ten bucks you'll throw up before I do!

[ Nobody is going to die at the end of this trip. Except, maybe, Yusuke, if Futaba doesn't stop yanking on his arm and dragging him from one end of the park to another. ]

Futaba, will you choose a ride, please?

[ A dangerous demand, unbeknownst to him. ]

[Oh sorry, was Akira supposed to hate this music? No, it's great. He didn't know all the lyrics but he was guessing on about 50% of it and sometimes he was even right! Still not wearing his seat belt, he sits up to try to squeeze between the two front seats to reach out for the dial.]

TURN IT UP, THIS IS MY JAM!

[Futaba might be Navi, but he needed to blow his eardrums out.]

[Akira didn't start too many biker fights, at least, but now he was going to go ahead and join Adachi in the hot tub. He can't have any alcohol since there were actually people around here that would stop him from buying any, but that didn't mean he couldn't try to bum some off of Adachi.]

Can I have a sip?

[He asked as he climbed into the hot water, hissing a little. He had to relax now and then too, right? How often would he get a chance to enjoy something like this?]

C'mon, just a lil!

[ What else are theme parks for? They're for admiring the costumes of the employees, obviously. Yusuke has managed to trap Elsa, his predictable favorite, and interrogate her about the material the dress is made out of, instead of just ask for a picture like a normal person. If someone doesn't spray him with a water bottle, he's gonna start touching strangers. ]

I already went on one with Futaba.

[ The least interested in the fast rides? Yeah, that would be Yusuke, by far. He's still recovering from the last one, but on the plus side, he's already thrown up, so there's probably nothing left to expel after round two.

Not that he's telling Akira that. ]

YOU KNOW WHICH ONE

Akira!

[ He manages to stutter out, before he glances at him through the mirror. Goro should have seen him coming - but unluckily for him he was too focused on making sure he tied his yukata correctly. He manages to relax, before he leans back into Akira with a soft smile. ]

I think I've managed to get ready on my own. [ This time, he thinks, unable to hide the blush coloring his cheeks. He was still getting used to the whole dating thing -- let alone anything that would resemble going further than--. ]

I take it you are ready then?

UuuuuuuGGGGGHHH!

[Akira whines, pouting as he tugs on Yusuke's long arm.]

Of course Futaba would get to it before me!

[He sighs, not actually THAT broken up about it, really. He stops his tugging and just stands next to Yusuke, holding his hand because??? They were friends and that's how you do with your friends.]

Well then, what did you have in mind?

[ It's definitely drawing attention, if nothing else. Adachi's busy with wrangling the others and making sure they order, so he's not paying attention to what Yusuke's doing. The bikers, however, have noticed. One smacked the back of his hand against his buddy's arm, nodding back to their group. ]

[ There were two reactions he could have with this situation: cool, calm and collected as he finished the last of his tea or the reaction he was having now as he practically clung to the seat belt for deal life. Where was the 'oh shit' handle? Were they going to die here?

WHO LET HER DRIVE? ]

Futaba! Maybe you should just pull over and let Adachi drive.

[ And let him out for a moment so he can just lay down in the dirt and relish in the fact that he's not buried yet. ]

IT IS A MYSTERY

[Akira laughs a little, squeezing Goro in a hug for a moment before sliding away from him to just... look at him for a moment. Adorable. Akira just stood there, smiling like an idiot as he continued to look at Goro. God, he looked like a completely different person, almost.]

Uh, yeah. I'm ready. Let's go pick up some snacks or something and we can go grab a good seat.

[He'd slid away from the hug, but his arms were still out and he reached for one of Goro's hands, attempting to pull him closer.]

[ Adachi let out an amused noise; Akira was acting like a little kid. It was kind of refreshing after everything that had happened. He paused a moment, glancing around to see if there was anyone else around, before passing his drink off to Akira to try it. ]

Enjoying yourself?

[Oh Goro. You poor, sad soul. You do not yet know what you have done, but you will momentarily.

Because she's whipping around to glare at you, frown tugging at her lips and eyes once again not on the road. Here's hoping Adachi takes the wheel. Because while extra lives were in no short supply here, it was probably better for them to not die.]
