Love and War [Closed]

WHO: Getaway and Tailgate
WHERE: Maurtia Falls
WHEN: November 26
WHAT: Relationship things
WARNINGS: The whisperings of a toxic relationship

The plane ride was rather uneventful and Getaway found himself fascinated with how the world looked from the point of view of a small organic. The world seemed so enormously big, despite their world being extremely and laughably small. Perspective was a funny thing though, and Getaway appreciated how things change. They arrived at the airport and from there they were shuttled to the hotel room that Getaway managed to snag at a suspiciously reasonable price.

"So, what do you think?" Getaway said as they walk into their tastefully decorated cream and black hotel room. The view outside is lovely and the lighting looked distinctively romantic. Depending on your point of view.

It had been Tailgate's first time flying in this world and as an organic. Take off had felt strange and the whole plane just felt small with no room to do anything. He knew he'd probably hate long distance flights, unless he was at the window seat, that made things different.

Tailgate had a feeling of excitement throughout the trip, along with nerves, sometimes he couldn't quite tell which one he was feeling more of.

Once they got to their room, he looked around, he liked the way it was decorated and the atmosphere it felt like it had. Tailgate made his way over to the window before turning back to look at Getaway, beaming.

"This is great! Thanks. For inviting me to come with you."

"He was acting kind of different earlier with that post on the network. He might have gotten kicked out of places. Or got us kicked out."

Seeing Riptide's change had upset him, and it upset him more that he couldn't seem to get through to his friend either. He'd decided it was probably better to back off for a few days before he gave Riptide into trouble.

He's snapped out of his thoughts and stares for a moment.

"Right now? Okay well..." Tailgate moves to the bed and sits on the end of it. He'd wrote out what he'd wanted to say and practised it a hundred times but it was all pretty much forgotten. He didn't want to trip over his words in front of Getaway so he took a moment to collect his thoughts.

"I'm really new to relationships and what it's like to like someone in a romantic way and what it feels like when you do. And loads of people were talking about relationships and getting together with others, and there was this holiday called...Valentine's Day and it was all about love. I was happy when I got told about it, but then the day came around and I was upset? I guess. And then I spoke to someone and he said I should just ride it out until I know.

This got really long winded. Basically what I'm saying is I want to do this. See where we end up and if it's really real."

For a moment he thinks that maybe he said to much, he hadn't expected that kind of reaction, although to be fair he didn't know what to expect. The knot that had worked itself into his stomach as he poured everything out loosened when Getaway spins them and he laughs along.

He's smiling as they touch foreheads and he closes his eyes for a moment, giving Getaways hands a squeeze.

It feels different, the worry he'd had over everything was gone, or at least buried under the feeling of elation. There were still questions, but he didn't want to ruin the moment asking them and they weren't incredibly burning ones, more to put his mind at more ease. Which the longer he thought about it, he didn't think Getaway could really answer them.

In this moment he's happy.

"So now what do we do? We should celebrate!"
