The day before, Wanda had texted Peter and told him that Erik and Lorna had ported out, and Erik had already been gone longer than usual every time he's temporarily ported out, so she was assuming it was for good. She would give it another 24 hours, and if there was no sign of him or Charles, she would start to clear out their house so she could start to work on selling it. Of course that was going to be a process that would take longer than a day to start, so she gathered her preliminary information on the afternoon of the 13th before leaving for a few days. While she'd been tempted to do the opposite, Peter told he to not let this most recent fuckery infringe on her honeymoon time. So. One Porter trip to Maurtia Falls, then a few hours car ride later (which would have taken four-ish hours, but since Wanda was driving under the influence of being upset, she was going close to 90 in a 65 MPH zone; her speeding was the only indicator of her still being upset -- everything else she'd left back home). The rental car had airbags and seat belts, okay, it was fine. (Not really but her logic there is Shitty anyway.) Also, pro-tip: Getting out of speeding tickets is super easy when you can mentally manipulate people.

So, once they get to the parking lot on the shore, she gets out of the car and walks to the back to get the bags out of the trunk. She could do it telekinetically, but pft. "How much do you like the idea of hauling the bags on a tiny boat versus just teleporting over there?" Yep, zero acknowledgement from her regarding her speedy driving, or the fact that like several of the New York State police force were subjected to her mental powers. But she does offer a small smile. "I might be a little biased towards the latter since that gets us inside faster. Where there's nothing but us and spotty cell service." Which, honestly, sounds like just what they need.
