Chief Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth ([personal profile] glassinine) wrote in [community profile] maskormenacelogs 2014-07-16 03:06 am (UTC)

His eyes dart between the two men. They're like a pair of goddamned wolves stalking their prey. Do they realize that? One standing guard, one drawing close. How would that serve their heroic self-images if they knew? If they knew how they looked? Would it even give them pause, or are they too caught up in their self-righteousness? Their heroism?

God, that he could take a snapshot of this moment and post it to everyone expressing confusion why he would object to heroes. This is what people drunk off their own sense of justified righteousness do. This is what happens when people don't question themselves. They do...this.

The Doctor doesn't get another five feet before Edgeworth hits the call button on his phone and holds it to his ear. If they have sense, they'll scatter. He hopes fervently, desperately, that they'll scatter. In the moment before the dispatcher picks up, he thinks with terror about what would happen if they can damage his phone, or if they take it from him, what recourse he'll have then -

But then the dispatcher picks up.

"This is Miles Edgeworth, with the prosecutor's office. I'm reporting an abduction."
