[ can you call it a date? a walk along the streets of central city can't be considered a date, can it? he's feeling happier and lighter and more hopeful than he's ever felt before — that's date-like feelings, even though there's no candles, no swelling music, no food for him to try and pace himself to eat. the world of flashpoint has been a welcome one to barry allen, albeit one he hadn't known he'd even departed. the world stops spinning when he smiles at iris. ]

[ like, it literally stops. ]

[ barry finds himself confused to be on the streets of heropa. despite forgetting about this universe back home, he instantly recognises it — he'd cased the joint out of boredom — and whips around, looking for iris in her pale pinks. she's nowhere to be found. ]

[ at first he panics, and then he remembers. ]

[ the iris west belonging to heropa is of the original timeline, and the iris west he'd been walking the streets with … it'd been a lot easier to label everything as "earth 1", "earth 2" than to try and figure out what belongs and what doesn't belong on his definition of "earth 1". is the world he'd been in the new "earth 1" or could it be considered "earth 1, the remake"? ]

[ focus, allen. ]

[ mind racing, he thinks of everything he can remember of being here — living with iris, being a personal assistant, being a part of the justice league, cisco being in this world when he couldn't find him in flashpoint — ]

[ it's enough to eat away at the panic swelling within him, transforming it into excitement. ]

[ quickly, barry reaches for his phone in his pocket, and finds the familiar numbers — this earth's numbers, not the ones he's memorised from central city 1.0 — and, without thinking, sends: ]

[ — and runs there within seconds of sending that text. he paces, back and forth, back and forth outside of the shop at a human pace. ]
