[OPEN] HAPPY NEW YEAR | Sorry for all this useless junk
WHO: Kaneda and YOU!
WHERE: Nonah Outskirts
WHEN: NOW it was supposed to be last week but I'm making it now because EVERYONE'S INVITED.
WHAT: FIREWORKS AND FOOD
WARNINGS: Alcohol? Blowing stuff up...it's a new years party.

Maybe you saw Kaneda's broadcast to the network. Maybe you heard it by ear from some of the other imPorts. Point is, there's something going down in the Nonah Outskirts. What's the point of this outing, you ask? New Years. It's a big deal for someone like Kaneda, where even in Neo Tokyo New Years was celebrated. Maybe not the same way, the fires that burned THERE were more destructive and less recreational, but Kaneda's going to branch out his imagination and go for the latter. It's a much better image than of the one back home.
So he's thrown as much stuff together at the last minute to accommodate.
Bonfire
Not gonna lie, it's pretty sizable, collected wood from the more woodsy areas of North Carolina (probably thanks to Bull). And before you ask, yes, it's got a permit and it's being regulated. Not by Kaneda himself--that seems like work. If it looks like the fire's starting to go down, feel free to tend to it...after all, not everyone can keep their eyes on one giant flame the whole night (or can you? No one's judging), or if you'd rather just sidle up next to it to warm yourself from Nonah's chilly temperatures, it's a good place to gather for some much needed body heat.
Fireworks
The main event Kaneda had prepared for. While Kaneda himself has nabbed all of the bigger ones (feel free to ask for one or grab one when he's not paying attention. He's not your babysitter!!), sparklers are lying on the table for anyone to use. Feel free to light them , run around with them, just watch out for those sparkling ends!
If you'd like to join Kaneda for fireworks action, feel free to approach him. He may or may not be using this as a way to get his mind off of other things.
Concessions
'Concessions' might be a generous way to put it, honestly. It's a pile off food set up on a table or two near the giant bonfire, ranging from marshmallows to Japanese snacks Kaneda pulled from the pantry (can you even read those?) to potato chips that taste like biscuits and gravy. Honestly, what can you really expect when a teenager throws this together? Still, it's open for the taking with plates and forks and sticks for cooking those marshmallows by the giant bonfire, and should they run out of food, Kaneda's sure he can get Riku to drive back for something.
Drinks consist of energy drinks, soda, water (Ken Amada's addition), and beer (provided by Adachi).
You are, of course, more than welcome to bring your own food too, should you be so inclined and set it down on the giant table. Don't worry, it'll most certainly get eaten by someone...
Feel free to put a top level and mingle among your friends or strike up some conversations with the new folks. This may as well be how they start off their year...and to you as well. Who knows what's going to happen in this place, and with so many people coming and going, it's best to celebrate the little victories when you can.

A;
If you hold it here, they'll burn less.

Unfortunately, he pulled his arm away so fast the flaming marshmallow flung off and out into the open. That small shout in the distance may be related to this situation.]

[Well, there goes the marshmallow, over their heads and through the air and -- scaring someone, she hopes, rather than hitting anyone. That would be terrible, in that case.]
Ah... I'm sorry. For startling you.

[She's already grabbed him another one, holding it out.]
A little farther away from the fire than before.

But that takes too long to cook.
[It doesn't, really, but he's impatient.]

[He doesn't.]

On earth there is a saying that goes like this: more haste, less speed; slow and steady wins the race.
Be patient.
