CLOSED blinded me with science

WHO: Peter & Dorian
WHERE: Peter's place in Heropa
WHEN: July 9th
WHAT: Learning about ~FUTURE TECHNOLOGY~
WARNINGS: none!

Peter was excited! He was gonna learn all about all the cool new technology and music and shit today.  This afternoon.  Was it afternoon yet? He stared at the clock.  Why the hell hadn't he specified a specific time to do this? Afternoon was so vague.  Maybe he should go out for a quick run.  But he couldn't.  What if Dorian came when he was away? What if he didn't know and completely missed him?

Ugh.  Bored. Booored.

He spun around on his chair and looked at the clock.  WAS THE MINUTE HAND GOING BACKWARDS? It's definitely afternoon now, right? The bell was going to ring... NOW.

...

NOW.

...now?

This was going to be a long wait.

It's about three pm when Dorian arrives, laden with a messenger bag FULL of tech. The messenger bag has his laptop, his phone, power cords for both, a CD of his band's work, a spare SD card, a spare SD card reader, and an iTunes gift card. So really, he's got a lot of stuff. Some of it's needed, some of it probably isn't, but Dorian's only halfway decent with regards to technology and he's got the feeling Peter's a complete neophyte. This might take a while.

Eventually, he makes his way to Peter's place and, after a brief moment to check himself out in the window, Dorian rings the doorbell, looking polished, put together and a bit sweaty because this is Florida in the summer.

"Now why would I forget about you?" Dorian teased as he entered, giving Peter a grin. It truly was amazing how much he looked like March. Just...with different hair and no mustache. Maybe he could convince Peter to try and grow one just to see how similar they looked with mustaches.

"Right! So, where shall we start? You know what cassettes and vinyl are, right? But not CDs or mp3s."

"Well, you'll be happy to hear that most CDs are less than twenty dollars these days. Also, here you go." Reaching into his messenger bag, Dorian pulls out a CD and hands it to Peter. It's a CD of his band: Dorian Gray and the Hedonists. The packaging is a little 'good enough for a coffee shop but not good enough for mainstream' but hey, it's an actual CD.

"The great thing about modern technology, however, is that you can download individual songs. No need to buy the entire CD if there's only one song you want!"

"You do that by purchasing songs from a music streaming service—something like iTunes or Google Play." Although he actually says this universe's equivalent of iTunes and Google Play instead of actual iTunes and Google Play whatever they are. "Those are websites that you can access on any computer. And thankfully, I brought my laptop here to show you."

Dorian's hoping that one of the other houses has unsecured wifi—oh and thankfully they do. As he pulls out his laptop, he connects to the wifi and pulls up his web browser. "Got anything in particular you want to download?"
