[ Luckily the one who catches him trying to throw the name-tag away is just Matthew, who glances at the trash can as the tag disappears inside, blinks, and then smiles up at Nathaniel like nothing happened. (It's just a name-tag anyway. Matthew is still wearing his own, though.) He's got a plate of biscuits in one hand and his cup of tea in the other and a few tiny crumbs at the corner of his mouth. ]

Hi. You're Kitty's friend, right?

[ He got here a little late but he knows this party is for somebody Kitty knows. ]

[Startled, and looking a little bit guilty for being caught throwing away Kitty's nametag--]

Oh. Yes. That's me. Nathaniel--... [awkward pause where he realises that he used the cadence to introduce himself with two names, but that he doesn't have a second one to say--] er. Just Nathaniel.

Nathaniel. Got it!

[ Cheerful sincerity and a complete lack of awkwardness because Matthew doesn't know how to feel awkward. ]

I'm Matthew Lynch. [ Still wearing your name-tag, Matthew. ] You might've met my brother already. He's-- [ Matthew casts his eyes around the room, points to the glowering, tattooed boy. ] --there. Ronan.

Ah. I admit, we've... not yet been introduced, as a matter of fact.

[Read: Nathaniel has yet to gather up the courage to talk to him.]

... I wouldn't have pegged you for brothers. [They look and act so different??]
