Adrien doesn't see her coming, he's too busy gawking at a the stalls around him. There's so many interesting things to see! He's nearly knocked right off his feet but he's quick to recover, thank you fencing and gymnastics! He does an awkward little spin before coming to a stop, reaching out to grab at Charlie just to make sure she's not going to face-plant or anything.]

Whoa! Are you okay?

Crap!

[For all of Charlie's training, when she's not in 'hero mode' she's clumsier than she wants to admit, so she was on her way towards a tumble when he caught her arm and steadied her. She took a quick step back almost immediately, but she was grinning. If a bit sheepishly.]

Jeez! Sorry. Totally my bad. It's so easy to get spun around in this crowd huh?

[Adrien tries not to be so graceful when he's not in costume, but it's habit from the various activities his father has put him through.

He smiles back at her when he sees that she's quite all right.]

No worries. The crowd is pretty, er, thick. I am just glad you are not hurt.

[Gracefulness was something Charlie always envied. She could fight, sure, but otherwise she was mostly elbows and knees.]

Nah it's cool, I wouldn't have been hurt anyway. Totally too awesome for that.

[When your father insists you be a model and do various activities to stay in shape it becomes a part of you. Somehow he's a little less graceful in costume, however.

His smile grows and his chuckles lightly.] Well, that is good.

What gives me away? [Is the accent? Not that he think he has an accent, it's everyone else that does.]

I mean, seriously though, can you tell who's an import and who's not? Some of 'em, sure, but the rest, like you or me?

Are you saying only an imPort can have good reflexes? But you make a good point.

[Blending in is what he's been doing, for the most part, as it's a good way to see thing. It's a nice break from all the attention he gets when he decides to go around as Chat Noir.]

...I guess not? But I mean, this is an import show. And I haven't found anything about like, 'local' heroes.

Well, I am no hero but, yes, I am an imPort. Something of a tourist, too, if you want to be technical. I'm originally from Paris.

[The way she babbles on reminds him of Marinette, and he can't help but chuckle. It's strange to him, but somehow amusing.]

I cannot say the same for your Metropolis. My father is the one that does all the traveling, I just stay home, go to school, and do whatever else my father has put on my schedule.

Well from what I can tell, there's probably not a Metropolis there anyway. It's seems like it's a rare thing?

[She wrinkles her nose.]

No offense but that sounds amazingly boring.

[He smiles and shakes his head, not looking offended at all.]

No, it is pretty boring.

Yeah. [Another of the list of things Charlie is currently missing. But she hides it well.]

[Now the smile slips from his face.]

Honestly, all this freedom is overwhelming. I don't know what to do with all this time I have.

[He's hoping to enroll at Xavier's after he gets a tour set up, but for now he has too much free time.]

I get that. When I first figured out...well, a thing. I could've gone anywhere, you know? So I ended up never actually going very far from home. Even though I could've.

[She grew out of it though.]

You just gotta take like...little steps at first, you know?

[He's about what this "thing" she figured out is, but he decides it's best to not pursue that line of thought.

He nods.] Yeah. I'm just so used to having my day planned out for me.

[foreverbouncing]

Ugh, not me. If I know what I'm doing two hours from now that's just weird. I was always driving Babs crazy, she'd say 'train' and I'd say 'but video games' and then I'd get yelled at.

[Clearly this doesn't bother her that much. She grins.]

So just makin' the rounds or looking for something here?

[He smiles. He knows his life is odd when every second of his day is planned out for him. He has a dozen or more alarms and reminders set on his phone just to ensure he's never late.]

I wish I could get away with using that excuse.

Just looking around at everything. I haven't been here long enough to really want any hero merchandise.

Me either! I've only been here a few weeks. [She lowered her voice, thumbing at a rack of T-shirts nearby that had Power Girl on the front.]

Not even enough time to get my own swag!

[He matches the volume of her voice.] Even if I had been here much longer I doubt I'd see anything of myself. I don't plan on getting involved in any heroics.

[Or really putting himself out there as himself. Seeing Chat Noir merchandise would be neat, but he wouldn't be able to go on about it being him.]

[Charlie was kind of terrible at secret identities. But she came from a world where people were...dumb...about them? So lucky her.]

Really? [Huh. Disappointing.] But what kind of powers did they give you? I mean, if you got something amazing you can't just not use it, right?

[Honestly, Adrien hates having to keep it a secret because he just really wants to know who is under Ladybug's mask. But the Kwami said to keep it secret so that's what he does.]

No. I didn't get anything super useful.

[foreverbouncing]

Anything fun then? I didn't get anything new, which is kind of disappointing.

[She leans past him now, peering at the booths around them. Then suddenly back to him.]

Oh! I'm Charlie. Did I say that?

[pawdonnemoi]

[He shakes his head.] No, I'm afraid not.

[He's still not sure what lie to tell about his powers. He knows it needs to be something he can pull out without relying on his Miraculous.]
