For Sorey/The Shepard

No superheros? That is a real shame. [Despite what he says, he doesn't seem too surprised to hear Sorey doesn't have superheroes back his world. They had only existed in comic books until the Miraculous magically appeared in his house.]

What is The Shepard?

[historiology]

Nope. I mean, the Shepherd is probably the closest thing we had. To the super heroes here and all. They're the ones that could make pacts with the seraphim - like elemental spirits, and channel their powers and abilities to purify the land. And deal with the Lord of Calamity.

[He isn't. Quite yet outright stating this as him, his duty, but then, Chat Noir could well figure this out himself from Sorey knowing even as much detail on it.]

[pawdonnemoi]

I see. [That doesn't sound too different from his deal with the Kwami, Plagg. However, he can't go around telling people that's how exactly he gets his powers.]

This Lord of Calamity sounds bad.

[historiology]

Yeah...he's the reason there are so many hellions with all the Malevolence, Lailah said. But that's why I -- why the Shepherd has to do something. But ah, you're probably not getting half of what I'm saying, are you?

[Of course not. He's not from Glenwood. Has no idea what hellions are. What Malevolence is. How it affects both humans and seraphim.]

[Chat offers an apologetic smile.]

Hellions....they're what happens when people get too caught up in their negative emotions, I guess you could say. And that gets increased with larger amounts of Malevolence around. And when I met Heldalf....there was a lot of it on the battlefield. And when a seraph gets affected by Malevolence they can potentially become a dragon.

[He hopes that makes sense. It's not usually him that needs to explain this. Lailah is. Or Edna.]

[Wow, does that ever sound familiar. He tilts his head, tapping his chin.]

Hmm, that sounds like what Le Papillon does to people. When people become too negative he Akumatizes them and turns them into villains Ladybug and I have to deal with. He also turned a rockstar's crocodile into a dragon.

[historiology]

Le Papillion? But you're not alone, if you have Ladybug with you too, right? Is she here as well?

[No, he isn't now....looking around almost expectantly as if hoping to see this 'Ladybug'. Okay, yeah, he is. But then Chat mentions his world's dragons.]

A crocodile.....?

Er, that is The Butterfly.

[He frowns, sighing a little as he shakes his head.] Sadly My Lady did not come along.

[A nod.] Oui. It is like an, er, alligator but a little different. Do...you have those where you are from?

[historiology]

Oh, a butterfly. [He's not sure if this is an actual butterfly or not, but if so it would probably be of great interest to Dezel, if the other were around.]

No? I'm sorry. I know it must be difficult, when you're used to having someone else there with you. I'm just lucky I have Mikleo. But we have them back home. I mean, I'm not sure I've actually seen one myself, but we didn't live too near to water or anything in Elysia.....

[It both is and isn't an actual butterfly. Look, magic is weird.]

Ah, it will be okay. It is better she is back home, she is the one that can better deal with the trouble Le Papillon makes. It may be more danger, though... [He worries about that. He knows Ladybug is strong on her own but they work best as a team.]

I was told it's like we never leave back home. People don't notice us gone, so.....I'm sure you're still there to help her too.

[That sounds weird. Way more weird when he says it aloud like that, but it is nonetheless the truth, from what Sorey has heard. He just wants to try reassure this fellow hero of sorts. He really does. Or, hopefully it's reassuring, if this guy has yet to hear that himself at least.]
