Hmm. Well, what kind of event are we talking here?

[hisheartsdesire]

The sort that brings people together. [He interrupts himself to look around and then adds,] Wait, that probably is really vague, isn't it?

Maybe. How many people, specifically?

[hisheartsdesire]

Typically? Two people, but they'll have to plan having guests and witnesses and things.

[resipiscent]

[He falls silent, and then -- he laughs.]

Really? That's awesome.

[When Riku laughs, so does Toby.]

Yes. Yeah, really. We don't have an exact date set just yet, but I proposed to him just a little earlier. Though— [A pause.] Even if someone caught it on video, I'm not on it.

[resipiscent]

Ah, is that a vampire thing?

[The vampire legends back home are pretty sparse. He's only learning more about them since he left home and since he came here.]

Where I'm from, it is. Some of the other vampires here have images and reflections— [Kanaya and Marceline can be seen in video, after all.] —but not me.

[resipiscent]

Yeah, I've definitely talked to at least Kanaya over video.

[Marceline too, now that he thinks about it.]

So your fiance -- are they a vampire, or...?

[How do you marry someone when you're immortal?]

Oh, no. Not at all, but he is immortal. [The thought of his fiance, the though that Dorian Gray is his fiance is enough to get Toby all beaming and thrilled.] The only immortal I'd ever met before coming here.

[Okay, that might not be entirely true since Ivor turned him, and they trapped the Siren in an oil drum, so she's probably still starving at the bottom of that lake, but... The only immortal that matters, at the very least.]

Well, that's essentially all you need, though. It'd just be a shame if it were otherwise.

[He'd hate to see something like that happen -- people outlive their spouses all the time, but by that amount of time?]

[Toby knows that sort of pain without the benefit of marriage. It's part of what drew him to Dorian in the first place. Both of them know what it's like to live on while people who are important to them age and wither, fall ill and die. He wanted more than that, and upon hearing of Dorian Gray, Toby had to know if he was the real deal, if he was immortal. And after that, he knew he wanted Dorian to want him the way he wanted the immortal. Perhaps even more than that, even.]

You aren't wrong. But thankfully it's so much more than that for the both of us.

[resipiscent]

[He nods, mouth curved just a little.]

Good for you, Toby.

[hisheartsdesire]

Thank you. So, what about you? Enjoying the event?

[Because FanPort is strange, it's unlike anything Toby's ever seen before.]

It's all right. I'm bad with crowds. But it's fun, too. I like the keychains and stuff.

[Of course you would.]

[hisheartsdesire]

I totally understand. [And Toby is normally all right with crowds!] But there were just so many more people than usual, and how many people were dressed up as notable imPorts? It's all rather amazing. I don't think I've ever seen so much imPort paraphernalia...

[resipiscent]

Yeah. Well... that's what this thing is. Last year, I'd only been around for a couple of months, so I was pretty unknown still. But this year is like... it's kind of weird.

[hisheartsdesire]

Have you run into anyone dressed up like you? [Both Dorian and Sasha had dressed up like Will Graham...] ImPort or otherwise, I mean.

[resipiscent]

I have, actually. There have been a couple of people I've noticed, locals, but then, I ran into Normie, too.

[Weirdest thing of all time, for real.]

Wow... Well, which is stranger: seeing people you don't know dressed as yourself, or seeing people you do know, dressing up as you?

[resipiscent]

Uh, definitely the second one, to be honest. Seeing strangers dressed up as imPorts is normal at this thing, so it's to be expected that there might be someone dressed as me. But then, seeing someone I know dress up as me is just... it's hard to understand why me, specifically, and how they decided to do it in the first place. You know?

[hisheartsdesire]

Hmm, I guess you have a point. I haven't yet seen anyone costumed as me, though. If I had, I might think it rather strange myself.

[resipiscent]

Would it be obvious, though? You're pretty normal-looking.

[Riku's not.]

[hisheartsdesire]

[A chuckle.] Perhaps. My clothes don't quite stand out because Dorian dresses me anyway—in fact, I'm wearing his clothes right now. Maybe I should do my hair in an unusual colour and style, then.

[resipiscent]

You guys wear the same size?

[Riku shares the same size with no one his age.]

I'm not the person to ask about that, though. I've never done anything like that to my hair.
