[ This is pretty much the closest anyone is ever going to get to Kaidan making a public display of affection, it's very public, to boot; Kasumi will gladly take the honor of being the root cause of it, small victories, and all.

Which is why she's going to keep going. This is not a press conference, Kasumi, you're not allowed to just yell your questions out, but whatever. ]

That's really sweet! What else is the Major capable of? You know, in the healing sense? Do biotics come into play sometimes?

[ If the heckling gets any worse, Kaidan's face might actually crumple in on itself with how hard its screwing it up, and Shepard does like that face the way it is, so he decides it's in his best interest to interrupt this before it can get too far (never mind that 'too far' was already a while ago).

So instead of letting Kaidan sputter his way to another conniption, Shepard reaches up, places a hand firmly over his fingers to still them, turning to give the room a winning smile. ]

That's between me and the Major. Now -- [ He emphasizes the word, standing up and letting his voice echo across the briefly-stunned room. ] I want everyone to find a partner! We'll be coming around to distribute bandages and help you troubleshoot while you practice the techniques the Major showed you.

[ Thank god for John Shepard. Kaidan only handed a few packs of bandages out, which people started to pass back and forth, while Kaidan looked to Shepard, and then scanned the crowd for the heckler. ]

You want to put a shirt on? Or do you want me to take those off first?

[ He asked, thankfully only after he'd turned off his mic. ]

Can you believe the nerve of some people? [ He finally said, not even waiting for an answer. ]

[ Oh, look who would show up right about now, seemingly out of thin air? ... And wearing Shepard's N7 hoodie? She knows they'd recognize her, but she makes sure to appear like a cautious fan trying to strike up a conversation with them. If anyone's glaring at her, it's because they know she's the heckler. But they clearly don't, so she tries to catch them at an idle moment during which she says, ]

Can't believe you guys actually got a heckler. That's wild! Rude, huh?

[ Shepard shakes his head at Kaidan's question, already pulling his shirt back over his head. Instinct tells him more bare skin is probably not the wisest of ideas at this particular given moment, and particularly not Kaidan getting to expose more of it ...

Although when a familiar voice pipes up from nearby, he turns and blinks. And folds his arms, raising a brow. ]

... Do I want to know when you got that out of our closet?

[ His tone is all resignation, though. Personal space around Kasumi? Perish the thought. ]

[ Kaidan? Kaidan jumped when Kasumi came out of nowhere, and he narrowed his eyes as the thief sauntered over. ]

I thought I saw you out there. Weren't you close to them?

[ He didn't look happy. All his hard work, ruined, because people were too busy laughing about him and his boyfriend. And the fact that they were together.

Well, Joke's on them. He's still happy about being with Shepard. Just not about being heckled. ]

[ To Shepard, she smiles that familiar, troublemaking smile to accompany her answer: ] Probably for the best if I don't answer that question.

[ The real answer is probably more innocent than anyone would ever expect. Like she snuck in while they were both at work and snagged it then. So innocent. (But hey, it could have been worse.) And as for Kaidan, she folds her arms almost expectantly at his reaction, particularly at being utterly startled by her sudden appearance. ]

Aw, it wasn't that bad. They could've been much worse, I thought. Should I have stopped them?

[sassguard]

[ Shepard at least hopes he'd be alert enough to figure out if Kasumi was sneaking in while they were sleeping ... or that Mako would have let him know (because, of course, Mako is an alert and capable watchdog).

He touches Kaidan's arm, lightly, and shakes his head at Kasumi. ]

No harm done. It's just words, isn't it?

It's --

[ He huffed, and looked between the two of them, and his eyes narrowed. ]

It's more about respect. We were trying to do something important, to help people out.

Sticks and stones, Major. I'm sure people still learned a good thing or two. I sure did!

[ Except for all the parts that she zoned out of, it's true enough! She shrugs her shoulders. ]

Although... I can tell a bunch of people were distracted. You know, by-- [ she gesticulates at Shep's torso. ] Shepard and all.

BUSTS IN HERE LIKE A LATE MOTHERFUCKERRR

[ Shepard actually has to suppress the urge to cross his arms defensively over chest, at that. It's an innocent enough gesture, but considering the context and who it's coming from, it's hard not to feel like cattle at auction. ]

As long as some people learned something. That was kind of the point.

Wh --

[ Just like Shepard isn't crossing his arms over his chest, Kaidan almost -- almost tries to put himself between Shepard and everyone else.

But that's just as bad, isn't it. He just looks stuffy, and annoyed, instead. ]

Not at the expense of making you feel like a -- a -- a piece of eyecandy.
