[ Not quite the sort of event she'd memorialize, a bit too mundane. But if it works for him, then it works. ]

Found anything else interesting today? Souvenirs or no, there's plenty to see about!

And yeah, actually. Check it out.

[He digs in his pocket for his phone, then navigates to a picture and hands it to her. It's... cookies in the shape of his and Sora's Keyblades.]

Somebody artsy spent a long time on these, I think.

[ She's never actually seen the Keyblades before, so there isn't a real familiarity, but it's plain to see they're significant to him. ]

I hope you didn't just take a picture! Unless you've already eaten them. Maybe you could have put a ring through them, keep them in your pocket everywhere.

[ Because hey, as far as she can tell, it's just a couple of keys. ]

Hm? No, I have them still. I was thinking about coating them in wax and keeping them, but... then I thought that might be weird, so I didn't. I'm gonna eat them later.

... If I put a ring through them, though, wouldn't they break?

[He smiles gently, putting it back away.]

It's not like they're the real thing.

Riku, it's a joke. I didn't expect you to actually go through with it, you'd have a pocket full of crumbs by week's end!

[ Remember to laugh, man. It's an important part of life. ]

..What are they, anyway?

[resipiscent]

I feel lke I'd have a pocket full of crumbs in ten seconds...

[He shakes his head, though he's grinning now. Sometimes he's bad at jokes, okay???]

They're weapons. They're called Keyblades.

Well, there's a difference between some crumbs and some cookies, and just crumbs.

[ But who knows, maybe he fiddles with his keys a lot. Hopefully not his Keyblade, as much. ]

That's a curious design for a sword. I have to wonder if there's some metaphor there, the doors we unlock through violence.

[resipiscent]

[Not as much, no. :|]

Well... the design is functional. In the worlds back home there are these doors that, if they're open, monsters can get in and eventually the world will disappear. The Keyblade is, as is probably obvious, the way to close them again.

Also if I forget my keys it doesn't matter, because supposedly it can open any lock. I mean, I haven't encountered every lock in the universes, so I can't really say. But it's got a pretty decent amount of them, at least.

Right, I think you mentioned something along those lines, once. [ Something about opening a door and destroying his world? Yikes. ]

I suppose it must follow, then, that they may create the exact problems they can be used to solve. ...And probably did?

[resipiscent]

[Yep. It was really smart.]

Yeah. There was a big war with them, too.

[glowsferatu]

Was? You've seen it through to the end, then?

[ Or maybe it was before he ever lived. But, with imPorts, it's usually a safer assumption that they lived through these sort of events, and participated. ]

No, this was before me. I fought a different sort of war.

[Even though there were only six or seven people on their side, and Xemnas and his thousands of Nobodies o n he other.]

Oh, I guess I thought...

[ She furrows her brows, trying to remember. ] You said you doomed your world by opening a door. Was it the Keyblade that unlocked it?

[resipiscent]

... Maybe. I don't know. I didn't do that part -- I just opened it. It was already unlocked.

[glowsferatu]

Did you ever learn who might have unlocked it?

[resipiscent]

No. I have a few guesses, but... before, it wouldn't open at all. I don't know why it did that night.

[glowsferatu]

It doesn't seem like something that could have been accidental. Especially if you only suddenly had the suggestion that it might be unlocked.

[resipiscent]

Right? And it's not like the Keyblade is exclusive to the 'good guys'. There have been terrible Keyblade wielders before, too.

[Mickey gave him the rundown.]

So... I think it's possible that someone may have been there.

[glowsferatu]

Is there anyone you can think of who might have planted the seed? Said something that may have begun the thought of opening the door for you?

[ And why wouldn't they just open the door themselves? Maybe Riku was just their scapegoat. ]

... No. No one ever talked about it, outside of me and the other kids. I don't know that people even knew it was there. But... I do have an idea of who could have done it. I just don't know if it's accurate.

[glowsferatu]

And there's really no way to confirm any sort of suspicion while you're still an imPort. That's one of the difficulties of being here, before things have been settled at home.

[ She frowns to herself. ] ...Wherever home may be now.

[resipiscent]

Yeah... like, the person I think did it is dead now. But that doesn't mean I have all the answers, either.

[Home...] That's a good question.

Well, you had to be living somewhere before you came here, didn't you?

[resipiscent]

Oh -- yeah. But I have no idea where to even ... think of its location now. You know? Relative to me.

[glowsferatu]

Mm. More a roof than a home? I've found that anywhere can be home, with the right company. But without them?

It's possible that nowhere will be.
