You say yes, I say no
WHO: Miles Edgeworth, Phoenix Wright, Shotaro Kaneda
WHERE: Nonah 005
WHEN: The afternoon of Saturday the 13th. The unluckiest day of the week.
WHAT: Edgeworth goes to check up on a friend, and comes across an old, old friend instead. What a delightful reunion this will be.
WARNINGS: Emotional constipation
[Edgeworth hasn't been to Nonah 005 enough for it to be a regular occurrence, but he's been there enough to be a familiar face. What brings him here today is Ken Amada. Or rather, Ken Amada's things. The boy left a notebook here the last time he visited, and it's best to return it before school begins again. So he strides to the door and rings the bell, still ignorant of the house's newest resident.]

I got it!
[Opening the door is a bit of a surprise - because he swears he's seen this person before. But he can't place where. Something about the eyes? Maybe? He puts it in the back of his mind, running a hand through the feathered underside of his hair.]
Yes? Can I help you?
no subject
[Edgeworth nearly chokes on his own tongue when he sees Phoenix in the doorway. He may not be the same boy he remembers, but he's seen him on the network enough to recognize him. What the hell is he doing here?!]
I...
[Okay. Okay, he. He doesn't seem to recognize him. Good. That's good. He can work with this. So Edgeworth clears his throat and straightens his posture]
...I have something belonging to Ken Amada. He left it at my house.
[A pause. That sounds weird, doesn't it? He has to explain that]
He's, ah, friends with my housemate.
no subject
Ken, huh...? Alright, that's fair.
[He turns back into the house, shouting above what's probably a chaotic din within.]
Ken! Someone's at the door for you!
[That's... a -really- sharp voice.]
no subject
Nope, it's definitely Kaneda, chewing on a poptart as he works his way out of the kitchen like a curious dog, making his way over until he's past the stairs and in the foyer of the place.
Oh. It's just Edgeworth.]
How do you keep getting in here?!
no subject
Hrk!
[-so long as the pack of idiots that live here don't interfere. Edgeworth glares at Kaneda, before shoving the notebook in Phoenix's hands]
I'm returning your housemate's things - or did you forget why he was at my house in the first place?
[In other words, keep your mouth shut, Kaneda]
no subject
Well... uh... thanks?
[He doesn't really ask Kaneda exactly what this guy's deal is, but he does turn his head an arch an eyebrow, trying to communicate some clear confusion. What is happening here.]
no subject
[Honestly, he DOESN'T remember why Ken went to his house. Then again, Ken kept his own agenda some (most) days. He never really asks.
But at Nick's confusion, he can only shrug.]
's just how the guy was born, I guess. Like someone shoved a tire iron up his ass when he was five and never got it taken out.
Right, Edgeworth?
no subject
Hrk! You...you-!
[All color drains from Edgeworth's face, before it turns bright pink with rage. Despite his best efforts, he's been outed. Outed! Outed by that loudmouth, musclebrained idiot of a manboy! Before he can say another word, though, he turns on his heel and begins to walk away.]
I don't have to take this!
[And Edgeworth stomps off, walking as fast as he can without breaking out into a run. Urgh! Forget dignity, he can't risk being in the same house as that nincompoop and that... that strange futureman! He refuses!]</small

Edgeworth.]

[He's hardly recognized him, how in the world could he have mistaken him? It's all -actually- clear to Nick now. His mannerisms, the verbal tics, the hair color-]
H-Hey, Edgeworth! Wait up!
[He's following out the door, Eggy. WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU EVEN DOING HERE MAN]

no subject
[GUESS WHO'S POWERWALKING AFTER YOU he might not be as muscular as Edgeworth, but he did have to bike everywhere, you know. He's not gonna just let you powerwalk away from him.]
no subject
I have nothing to say to you! Just... just go away!
no subject
[ Because of course he doesn't understand what the hell has gotten into (or haven't gotten into) Edgeworth. ]
no subject
Look at me, Wright.
[Edgeworth gestures to his face for emphasis. Even with his dour expression, his features are still softer than the last time they met. The bags under his eyes are faded (or more competently hidden), his skin is smooth, and his jawline is just a hair more delicate than before. He looks less like the man he knew, and more like a teenager or university student throwing a tantrum.]
When was the last time you saw me?
no subject
...I'd seen you recently, back home, before I left on a trip.
(But you were older...?)
[ The gears are spinning in Phoenix's head as fast as they were able to, but something wasn't really clicking about what this Edgeworth's issue was with him. ]
...Why?
no subject
[He drops his hand at his side, and he continues to glare at him, not breaking eye contact for even a moment.]
So let me make one thing clear. You don't know me. I don't know you, nor do I wish to. You're a stranger, Wright, and nothing more!
