Heropa Public Park - Mornings

[ The stereotypical image of people practicing Tai Chi usually revolves around groups in public parks, which suits Wasabi just fine. Apart from having a group, that is. Any wayward morning joggers or other early birds in the great Heropa-based outdoors might run into him during this particular part of his morning routine. Dressed in comfortable clothing and soft shoes, he goes through the motions of various forms, blending together purposeful measure and steady breathing.

It’s not that he’s opposed to having a group, either, and he’s happy to answer hellos and questions. The slight smile-and-nod combo that he tends to give passing eyes might be an indicator of this.

Not the most thrilling martial arts display, but it’s something that’s good for the body, mind, and soul. Who can really be opposed to that? ]

Heropa Radiological Research Lab - Afternoons

[ Until he goes through and acquires a more personalized space, Wasabi's done his best with what he's been given. Radiology isn't exactly his pet field, but it's interesting enough and it's serves great purpose. Being an assistant means that branching out into his own research is a little more complicated than it was at SFIT, but he's made a couple of strides in proving himself capable and putting his ideas out there.

He's got a little space here that's his, at least, however temporary. He'd spent the better part of an afternoon making it just right, too. The surface that he works on is spotless, and every tool that's been given to him has been given a place, marked precisely with thin masking tape. It's streamlined. It's functional. It's a place of quiet and balance, and it makes it a little easier to ignore the overwhelmingness this place and everything that's come out of being brought here.

Given all of that, being interrupted or intruded upon might not be his cup of tea. You're welcome to give it a shot anyway, if you really want. And if you can get beyond the security doors. ]

Heropa #005 - Evenings

[ Coupled with the lingering effects of August’s swear-in, that god-awful toilet incident has caused Wasabi’s penchant for cleanliness to kick itself into overdrive. His need to have things a particular way has again been compounded by the apparently very real possibility that things could grow discontent and spring to life under the whims of whichever given superpowered individual.

His own spaces are fine. It’s the common areas in his house that are difficult to keep up with, especially given the existence of Peter and his… friend? Pet? Whichever. The raccoon. That’s not to mention to teenagers, who aren’t worth much of a mention. They aren’t bad. They’re fine. It’s mostly the existence of the raccoon.

Anyway, Wasabi tidies up every night after he’s done with dinner, washing the dishes first then wiping down the counters and stove, doing the floors, vacuuming the living area, picking up any clutter… Basically, if there’s a smudge, Wasabi’s on a mission to un-smudge it. (You’re welcome, #005.) Any other residents or visitors are welcome to pitch in. Or mock. Or just sit there and observe this madman in a maddening habitat. It’s a free country, after all. ]

Streets of Heropa/De Chima - Nights

[ Wasabi’s still not sure how he feels about this whole superhero gig. Well— He’s pretty sure he has doubts. He has lots of doubts. He also has assurances, though, and reasons for wanting to do this and to do it well.

Whatever the feelings behind it, he certainly has the capability to play this out. He’s a natural athlete and an intimidating figure (sans intimidating personality, of course, but nobody needs to know that). He’s knowledgable in martial arts, and, most importantly of all, he’s sporting a pair of kick-ass laser blades. Not that they’re for hand-to-hand encounters, naturally, but… They’re awesome and useful, okay? Okay.

His suit of green armor comes complete with the headpiece that connects him to the rest of his team, now with the added ability to broadcast bits and pieces of this world to him. Triggered alarms, nearby police reports… That kind of thing. So when, say, a silent alarm is sounded at a nearby convenience store, he can pick up on it and make his way there as quickly as possible.

And he’s not as quick as some people, it should be noted, but he makes it in time to face the bad guys before they’ve fled the scene. ]
Hey! You, there! Hold up!

[ That, of course, seems to always be the cue for these types to cut and run which is, in turn, a great cue for any allies to show up. ]

Research Lab

[Security doors? He'd seen a lot worse things try to keep him out of places. For example? Guard dogs. Now those things were the ones you had to watch out for. Security doors were easier to bypass, and didn't chase you when you had to book it. No one's really sure exactly how Kaneda got in--call it a mix of stubbornness and determination.

Either way, he's walking around Wasabi's radiology lab, inspecting everything (and anything) that he can find. With a bag of shrimp puffs in his hand because...well, a guy's got to eat.]

...I was expecting something flashier...

[He doesn't even know this is your lab, Wasabi. He just did this out of straight up curiosity.]

[By the time Wasabi turns around, Kaneda's noticed him himself, sitting on one of those lab tables and opening that bag he'd gotten from the vending machine earlier. The sound of the bag opening fills the awkward silence after Wasabi speaks, hand reaching in and tossing a shrimp puff into his mouth.

He'd be lying if he said that look wasn't priceless. It's enough to get a smile across his face.]

Door was open.

[You know, after he forcibly broke in.]

This is -your- lab?
rassera: (We'd burn this city and go)

[personal profile] rassera 2015-09-28 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
[Kaneda's about to make a remark, but he's being shoo'd off the table like a cat, hopping down from it and edging away to protect his bag.

Well, the 'stop eating' thing is DEFINITELY not happening, for the record. He's just going to move to another part of the lab, looking at various pieces of equipment.]

Does this make the lasers?

[SORRY WASABI, DID YOU WANT YOUR SANITY TODAY?]
rassera: (Sneaking around like MGS)

[personal profile] rassera 2015-10-04 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well like the philosopher Mick Jagger once said, 'You can't always get what you want'.]

[Kaneda is in fact shoo'd away from his current piece of interest in the lab, moving slightly farther down as he continues his little impromptu tour.

Radiology sounded...boring, honestly. He wouldn't split hairs on that. But if it was like most science, it sounded boring when you explained it, but was really cool in action.

Or mind scarring. That worked too.]

What kind of medical research?

[A finger moves towards a little knick-knack to poke.]
rassera: (Explain this to me)

[personal profile] rassera 2015-10-09 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
[Kaneda's attention is pulled away from the piece of equipment as he hears Wasabi's voice jump an octave. Truth be told, getting into the lab wasn't all that hard. If they wanted to keep it so locked down, maybe they should've done just that!]

You're in here, right? So it can't be too dangerous.

[He sits back on that table, setting the bag to the side.]

This the job they gave you here? Or you...self employed?
rassera: (Cause our days were numbered)

[personal profile] rassera 2015-10-16 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
[That's right, Wasabi. He's being his most harmless right now, don't poke the lazy dragon.]

Pretty sure they can't fire you for someone breaking and entering, right?

[Kaneda, you say that so casually.]

I mean...maybe they should make better locks on the doors!
