WHEN: June 10 - *waves hand vaguely cough*June17*cough*
WHAT: A bunch of teenagers pile into two cars and road trip to California
WARNINGS: exactly what you'd expect on a cross country road trip - a lot of yelling at some point



Months of planning and coordination and the day finally came this road trip could start. De Chima #1 has Akihiko's smaller car and a larger rental van parked outside and both half-loaded with luggage, camping gear, coolers and room for everyone else's things. Tadashi himself is sporting bags under his eyes from having gone and bailed the Pines twins and their uncle out of Heropa jail and taken them home in the wee hours of the morning before finally getting a few good solid hours of sleep. It only hit him the day before that half the trip goers likely haven't met the other half...

It should be fine. Until everyone gets there and packed and ready, he's just going through his phone's map and gps to make sure he's got the route taken care of.

[Gogo had mostly just been watching everyone arrive and play Tetris with the luggage, nursing the second mug of coffee Tadashi had made for her. She's said a few hellos but kept to herself.

At his comment, though, she'll set down the mug and climb back to her feet, stretching. This may be the last time she gets to really move around for a long while.]

How about I come with you? Give you an extra set of hands to carry things back.

[None of those hellos were probably for him. Akihiko didn't really introduce himself to anyone and has been kind on tunnel vision getting everything prepared. Though it's certainly not because he's in a bad mood, he's just but the most friendly person. Which perhaps is for the best, like Chie once said, nice to look at, but once he talks?]

[Eh.]

[A pause, looking over to her, wait.]

Who're you? We haven't met yet. [No shit.]

No we haven't. Hence the field trip.

[Blunt and to the point as she moves to stand next to him.]

I'm Gogo.

Yeah, guess so. Meeting beforehand really wouldn't make sense if I'd just meet up with you here.

[Nice, he can work with that.]

Sanada. [Last name for you, can be traditional here and there, maybe you'll get 'Akihiko' status later. Just keep being cool enough, you need a high cool rating to get further than this.]

You're from Hiro and Tadashi's world, right? [Said as he'll start to move to his driver's seat, unlocking the passenger door.]

[She may be American, but she also hasn't used her real name in like a year. She'll call him whatever he wants her to.]

The very one. [She slides into the car after him, mentally reviewing what else she might need to get. They're going to be out, might as well.]

[Nicknames are great. Quick, efficient, though personal. Akihiko doesn't find himself in a lot of more friendly and personal situations for him to gain anything like that sooo, Sanada it is. And Akihiko to those that earn it.]

Some mix of the cities here right? Or the ones where I'm from. San Francisco and Tokyo? How's that work?

[Buckles, starts the card, he won't dawdle and is quick to pull out, though he's a pretty careful driver it seems like. Well... for now anyway.]

[San Francisco. Seriously. Who named that place.]

So I've heard. It works very well, actually. I'm rather fond of it.

[She gets herself buckled and leans the seat back a little, watching the road rather than him.]

Our city doesn't seem to exist anywhere else but the one world.

[Wow, okay, it's named after a Saint??]

Guess I can't know unless i experience it for myself. [Turn, go, stoplight.]

Seems like there a a lot of different places people come from but the only one that has multiples has been Earth. At least from what I've been hearing. Guess it makes sense they'll all be different in some way. What are some other places there?

You could probably make an argument that it's because Earth is closest to the portal. More people get pulled from there because we're sitting at ground zero?

[She shrugs.] Universal theory isn't my strong suit.

So far it seems to be about the same. Chicago, New York. All the really recognizable places are the same. I mean, aside from the design changes and the lack of other cultures. This place isn't nearly as mixed as back home.
