War: Horsemen of the Apocalypse Log #2 - 3rd to 5th June
WHO: War and YOU!
WHERE: Everywheeeeere!
WHEN: 3rd to 5th June
WHAT: Second part of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse Plot. This means War! Time for grumpiness, arguments, fighting and all out war between friends and foes as the War ring takes it’s hold. Spread via close proximity to the ring, this can be caught at any of the main hero cities throughout the stated dates thanks to a well travelled lawyer and his camera crew. Characters affected by the ring’s power will first feel levels of irritation, which will give way to all out paranoia, temper tantrums and violent tendencies only hours later.
WARNINGS: Possibility for extreme violence, death and other potentially disturbing scenarios. Please state in headers if you believe there to be anything extra needs to be warned about.
It starts with little more than a thought. That little niggling feeling in the back of your mind when you know it’s going to be a bad day. You can’t quite put your finger on where it came about or why, but it’s not hard to notice a rise in irritation. Someone coughing too loudly, some idiot cutting in front of you on the sidewalk or in a car, even your best friend telling a joke that suddenly sounds like it might be a personal dig at you: it’s all enough to set you on edge. You might try and ignore it, but little by little that aggression starts bubbling to the surface, weighing you down until you just want to snap.
It’s okay to let your thoughts be heard! Better to say what you think than keep them bottled inside. Better to get a little physical than leave yourself unheard. So maybe you were a little rude to someone. You might have even punched a guy just for walking nearby, but it’s to be expected. It’s their own fault.
But those feelings don’t stop no matter how much you yell and shout, or how determined you are to silently brood and glare. Soon it becomes apparent that someone is out to get you. It could be those guys who have been staring you down, or that friend of yours that’s obviously been stabbing you in the back. Maybe it’s those spies that have been sneaking around your apartment complex, or the Walkers that have slowly started to shuffle their decaying bodies through the streets. Whoever or whatever it is, you know that it’s up to you to get rid of them! It may be an idea to team up, after all there’s plenty of others out there who you could form a strong alliance with to help right the wrongs and fight the evil, but if there isn’t you know you can go it alone and still win.
Try to find a weapon or get yourself to a vantage point. Anything that will help you win this war!
Just try to save some for the rest of us.

( OPEN ) power girl | stage one + two
[ For the past hour or so there's been a prickling in the back of Peej's head, a sensation she can't seem to shake or scratch out no matter what she does. It continues to persist much to her chagrin, so she debates heading back to De Chima and back to her own apartment for a long nap. It's sorely tempting now that she's done with her meeting in the city which, by the way, was annoying to have to head out all the way to Nonah when she and her business are based in De Chima. Would it kill people to come to her once in a while? Apparently. ]

[ So much for a trip straight home.
Peej had been flying over a park when she caught wind of a young man pushing down an elderly lady with a walker, snatching her purse and making off with it as fast as his legs would allow him. Lucky for this elderly woman, Peej is much faster and catches up with the thief in an instant. He attempts to get around her, but flicks her fingers at him and sends him sprawling to the ground. It appears she flicked him pretty hard; he begins to whine about his broken nose.
Peej rolls her eyes impatiently. ]
Oh, quit your crying. Don't you idiots ever learn? Stealing from old grannies? I guess you guys have to start somewhere.
closed to norman osborn | you know what you did last summer ( de chima )
[ She hasn't been able to come down since her run-in with Tony. He always finds a way to get under her skin. Peej doesn't know why she ever bothered with a man like Tony Stark when she's been warned enough about him and repeatedly seen those from his world on the network bring up his pro-Registration stance and how far he's willing to go in support of it. Enough people have been hurt in this world, some because Peej hadn't kept a close enough eye on. She won't stand for it happening again, she tells herself.
And god, her past inability to protect those who needed it makes her want to punch herself in the face, or something. Preferably someone's face. The more she dwells on Freddie's death, Kanaya's situation, hell even something as trivial as when Clark wound up being turned into a kid again riles her up. Step up your game, PG. What happens when everything goes to hell again as it inevitably will? She's seen it more than enough times and lived it.
In all her distraction, she almost doesn't see Norman Osborn seated below in one of De Chima's finer restaurants. Her blood runs hot instantly and in that moment all she can focus on is that smug expression of his and how he acts like he's done nothing wrong.
She dives straight through the restaurant's window, glass shattering and flying everywhere upon impact. The guests in the immediate vicinity begin screaming and panicking, scrambling out of the way as Peej storms in, snatches Norman up by his collar and yanks him out of the restaurant with her. ]
I should have done this right from the start.
closed to galatea & superman | ain't no drama like kryptonian family drama ( maurtia falls )
[ In all her fear over people like Norman Osborn or Tony Stark eventually hurting the people she's sworn to protect, Peej realizes one thing hasn't occurred to her: what about the people out to hurt her? She can take a beating, certainly, but it hardly means she's going to stand for it.
Besides, there's one person here she realizes could do a lot more damage if she ever wanted to. She's probably planning to. Once Peej remembers Galatea, her alternate universe doppelganger or whatever she is supposed to be, she sets out to confront her. She doesn't have the slightest idea where she is, so she spends a lot of time in and out of Heropa, Nonah, and De Chima in search of her. Two long hours later, she finally arrives in Maurtia Falls to continue her search, her patience worn out and heart thundering in her chest. Her head feels tight, like something is squeezing down on it, ready to pop any second.
In those two hours, all Peej could think about was how replaceable she was in actuality. Kal was kind, but he longed for real family and he'd barely given Peej a real chance, or so she felt. The moment Kara showed up Kal clung to her and forgot about Peej. What if he's already reached out to Galatea? Knowing him, he probably has. She refuses to continue competing against the other versions of herself or Kara. Doesn't she deserve a damn break from the multiverse once in a while? ]
( ooc: if you would like some kind of confrontation for stage two, feel free to PM me or hit me up at
Maurtia Falls
She's flying overhead of the business district, contemplating whether or not she wants to stop by the Muffin Man's bakery for a snack or bother trying to stop whatever might be starting in the supermarket parking lot. Nah, she's sure someone else will handle it--probably Superman in all his annoyingly righteous glory--so she'll get herself a muffin.
That is until she sees something coming from the distance and frowns a little--because she knows that face anyway and she hasn't had to look at it anywhere but a mirror since she got here. What's she doing in Maurtia Falls?]
no subject
[ Peej calls from a distance, speeding up a little so she's invading Galatea's personal space. She frowns hard at the other woman, her eyes strangely unfocused and wild. She looks livid about something. ]
Should've figured a city like this would be your kind of place.
[ She wants to put an end to the violent outbursts below, but dealing with Galatea comes first. For all she knows Galatea's somehow responsible for everyone acting out recently. ]
no subject
Just what she needs, an insane Kryptonian after her.]
Should have known? I've been here. It's not like I'm hiding where I am flying though the sky all the time.
no subject
[ Peej scoffs, putting both her hands on her hips. It's a difficult gesture when every inch of is struggling to resist punching Galatea in the face. It's unnerving just how much they look like each other save a few details here and there, and that's not the point. A number of people had been confused by her arrival, much to her annoyance. ]
What are you even doing? Haven't you noticed people have gone crazy?
no subject
[She's getting annoyed which really if Karen is affected, it may not be her fault, but she's not going to let her act like Tea is the one doing something wrong. This time.]
You sure haven't noticed that you sound like a crazy person.
no subject
[ Her arms end up dropping, hands tightening into fists at her side, but she refrains from striking out just yet. A voice in the back of her head tells her to hell with it, just do it already. Galatea's just as temperamental as her and might throw the first blow if she's not careful. ]
So I'll be nice: what is your deal?
no subject
Is she trying to ruin that for her?] There. is. no. deal. I didn't ask to be brought here and you sure as hell don't have any right to judge me. You don't even exist in my world!
[She is so tempted to punch her in the face right now.]
no subject
I didn't ask not to exist there, but I sure as hell do exist and I'm tired of you and Supergirl and every other version of you or me showing up and challenging that!
[ Having the nerve to remind her she doesn't exist and probably never will in Galatea's world... really. It's not the first time she's heard it and it won't be the last. Wally and Tara didn't recognize her upon first meeting either. All it does is serve as another hurtful reminder she's an anomaly in the universe.
She wasn't supposed to exist. ]
no subject
Who do you think you are? I'm not damn Supergirl! [And she's going to shove right back, not even caring that she's putting more force into it than she should.]
Stop comparing me to her because you've got some complex over whatever the hell she did to you back home! I'm sick of all of you comparing me to whoever you want when you don't even know me!

And here she was, doing just that, yelling at the guy after he'd stolen a purse. It was a damn purse. Of course it was important, but not manhandling important.
He landed a few yards away, his coming partnered with the sound of jets, and then a solid clank when he landed, and he walked forward, not quite in her space, but close enough that he could get there fast. Even without superspeed. ]
Hey, I know I'm not the person to talk about moderation, but from what I'm seeing, he did just break his nose. Think about loosening the grip, there?
[ Something was wrong. ]
no subject
I've got it under control, Iron Man.
no subject
[ He looked at the guy. ]
Why don't I take him to the hospital, get that treated, and then I'll drop him by the police station after it's done. What if something ruptured?
[ He doubted it, but... Well. It wouldn't look good, if any of them killed the locals. ]
Or, do you want to use him as a punching bag? It's a little unbecoming.
no subject
You don't get it, do you? Dirtbags like this always start small and petty. They always escalate and the next thing you know you've got a triple homicide on your hands and for what? A few hundred bucks?
[ She drops the man, who quickly seizes his opportunity to crawl away while Peej is distracted. ]
But you don't care about that, do you? Your concern is this Registration crap and how "dangerous" us superpowered folk are!
no subject
[ He asked, his eyebrows lifting into his hairline, even if she couldn't see it, behind his mask. It rang in his voice, and he planted a metal fist on his hip, and cocked it, like he wasn't concerned at all. ]
Power Girl, you broke his nose with a flick of your wrist. That just goes to prove my point.
no subject
Over a petty thief of all things.
But for Peej, it's not just about this thief who will escalate into something far worse. Now she's got Tony hounding her and from what she's been told, she knows how far he'll go when he feels he's in the right. ]
I'm teaching him a lesson. Now get lost, tin man!
no subject
[ He asked, his voice taking on the sound of that usual sardonic lilt, the one that said that he was annoyed, but he was opting to play it off, instead of address the actual emotion behind it. ]
Come on, Power Girl, that wasn't a lesson, that was punishment on the grounds of trying to make you feel better. Let him do his time, now he's going to just try to avoid imports, not try to change his ways.
no subject
[ She doesn't address the rest of his statement and stomps right up to Tony. For a second, she stands inches from him as if to stare him down angrily.
Then she flicks her arm, backhanding him across the face and hard enough to send him back at least ten meters. ]

Of whom there were many.
Norman doesn't scream. He barely has time to make any sound beyond an irritated and uncomfortable growl before they're already up in the air, his feet dangling and kicking weightlessly. He grasps a hand tightly over her wrists for an ounce of leverage of his own, not that it makes much difference; he can feel her strength in his grip, one that easily surpasses his own. ]
What's that? Have plans of dropping me? [ His voice has a mildly breathless quality, but is otherwise level. ] Am I supposed to know what this is in reference to?
no subject
Her hands grip his collar, tightening it against his neck. ]
Don't play dumb. [ She tugs the collar more, threatening to cut off his air supply. ] I should catapult you into orbit, but then I won't get a confession out of you.
no subject
[ Because of course how is he to know what she knows about what? So far she's only an angry, deranged human (?) wrecking ball that's burst unexpectedly into his life, that's what she is to him.
Where is she going with all this, and why? Norman inhales sharply when her grip tightens, but he doesn't buckle. Even like this he has his own smug dignity. ]
What exactly am I meant to be confessing to?
no subject
Kanaya, [ she starts in a terse tone, ] you're going to tell me what the hell you did to her and why.
no subject
The mention of Kanaya seems to surprise him; he raises his eyebrows curiously, then narrows his eyes. ]
Who says I had anything to do with it in the first place? I won't claim not to know why some may jump to the conclusion, but that doesn't make them right.
OH MY GOD IM SORRY im just trying to get an icon cries
She swoops toward one of the higher buildings and when they're close enough she drops him onto the rooftop. There isn't anywhere for him to run or hide, not unless he's daring enough to jump off the ledge and take his chances. ]
There's nobody else who would know how to make those pumpkin bombs. She doesn't know how to build them. Rather than make this hard for yourself, you should fess up now.
no subject
This is a joke. Any engineer could do it, making explosives isn't that exclusive of a skill. Do you really think no one else knows that the Green Goblin used pumpkin bombs? If you know it, anyone can.
That isn't evidence. It's only barely even qualifies as circumstantial. [ Now he stands, cracking his knuckles. ] What do you intend to do? Beat a confession out of me?
