War: Horsemen of the Apocalypse Log #2 - 3rd to 5th June
WHO: War and YOU!
WHERE: Everywheeeeere!
WHEN: 3rd to 5th June
WHAT: Second part of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse Plot. This means War! Time for grumpiness, arguments, fighting and all out war between friends and foes as the War ring takes it’s hold. Spread via close proximity to the ring, this can be caught at any of the main hero cities throughout the stated dates thanks to a well travelled lawyer and his camera crew. Characters affected by the ring’s power will first feel levels of irritation, which will give way to all out paranoia, temper tantrums and violent tendencies only hours later.
WARNINGS: Possibility for extreme violence, death and other potentially disturbing scenarios. Please state in headers if you believe there to be anything extra needs to be warned about.
It starts with little more than a thought. That little niggling feeling in the back of your mind when you know it’s going to be a bad day. You can’t quite put your finger on where it came about or why, but it’s not hard to notice a rise in irritation. Someone coughing too loudly, some idiot cutting in front of you on the sidewalk or in a car, even your best friend telling a joke that suddenly sounds like it might be a personal dig at you: it’s all enough to set you on edge. You might try and ignore it, but little by little that aggression starts bubbling to the surface, weighing you down until you just want to snap.
It’s okay to let your thoughts be heard! Better to say what you think than keep them bottled inside. Better to get a little physical than leave yourself unheard. So maybe you were a little rude to someone. You might have even punched a guy just for walking nearby, but it’s to be expected. It’s their own fault.
But those feelings don’t stop no matter how much you yell and shout, or how determined you are to silently brood and glare. Soon it becomes apparent that someone is out to get you. It could be those guys who have been staring you down, or that friend of yours that’s obviously been stabbing you in the back. Maybe it’s those spies that have been sneaking around your apartment complex, or the Walkers that have slowly started to shuffle their decaying bodies through the streets. Whoever or whatever it is, you know that it’s up to you to get rid of them! It may be an idea to team up, after all there’s plenty of others out there who you could form a strong alliance with to help right the wrongs and fight the evil, but if there isn’t you know you can go it alone and still win.
Try to find a weapon or get yourself to a vantage point. Anything that will help you win this war!
Just try to save some for the rest of us.

Teddy Altman
[He's felt people looking at him weirdly all day. And he's tried to pretend he can't feel it, that everything is normal, but the longer the day goes on the more sure he is that everyone is staring at him when he's not looking. But he takes a deep breath, tries to remind himself that it's just this place; people do stare at ImPorts. No point getting irate about it, even if he does give a few people funny looks and is noticeably short with people, entirely unlike his usual politeness. Even people he knows, when usually he'd try to be patient.
Eventually, it's on the way home from the supermarket he realises why everyone's staring, when he sees a familiar face. He almost calls out to Kate, see if she's heading back to the apartment, and then he spots the eye patch and the uniform and he knows what's going on.
...Okay, it's not Kate. Well, it is, but. Kate as she could have been, Kate the HYDRA or AIM agent, whichever it was. And now he's looking, he can see other versions of his friends, half-hidden in the passers-by. And if all those bad-idea duplicates of his friends are here...
He's green before he even thinks about it. He can't be infected by Mother, too young, but he's surrounded by adults, all of whom are giving him that blank-faced look he'd come to associate with Mother-infectees. And anyone who isn't an adult is one of the evil bad seed selves. Mother-infectees and bad ideas after Billy and he isn't going to let them, not this time. He snarls, dropping his shopping, growing more than the usual complement of armour and spikes.]
Stay back. I'm not letting you take him. And you're not taking me so easily this time either.
[He doesn't even notice the camera crew, when they notice him. Or when they start filming, for that matter.]
Closed to Billy
[He can't quite help hesitating when it comes to punching any of the bad ideas, but the ones that look like Billy are the worst. He doesn't want to hurt Billy, ever, and he has to tell himself that they aren't really Billy. Or at least, not his boyfriend. And he can't quite help the feeling something's wrong here, even if he can't place it.
The vampire version of his boyfriend almost fools him, for a second, before he notices the pale skin and tiny visible fangs. And then he's just- angrier. Angry he was so nearly taken in, angry that Billy isn't here to help, angry he doesn't even know if Billy's safe.]
You're not him. Stop trying to pretend you are and leave me alone!
no subject
He's been holding his hands out and trying to insist no, I am your boyfriend, please, to absolutely no avail at all. He's not sure what Teddy's seeing, but he's pretty sure it's not real.]
Teddy, come on-
[He says it very softly, and takes a step closer. Whatever Teddy might think, he wouldn't actually hurt him, right?]
It's okay. Look. It's fine.
no subject
But he can't quite make himself hit out, either. Not when it sounds so much like Billy.]
Stop it!
[He takes a step forward, shoulders tense and still snarling, furious.]
You aren't fooling me, not by looking like Billy and not by talking. You're working for her, aren't you?
no subject
[He doesn't know who he's talking about. Clearly Teddy is upset, and clearly this could end very badly, so he takes another step. He doesn't even think about magic, he doesn't even think about protecting himself. Teddy wouldn't hurt him, he just wouldn't.
He moves his hands out, to touch Teddy's arms, carefully.]
It's me, it's Billy, I promise.
no subject
Don't touch me!
[His blow isn't that strong. The angle is a little wrong for that, made awkward by how stupidly close he'd let the fake Billy get, and besides, he isn't trying to kill it. Not yet, at least, even if it would be so easy to just crush it now it's down.]
One last chance to just leave, before this becomes a fight. I'm not being used as bait ever again.
[He looks up at the crowd of blank-faced adults.]
If you want Billy, you're going to have to get him yourself.
no subject
It's a surprise.
The blue light springs up as Billy, stumbles back quite a few feet, and then is bolstered back up by flying.]
Man, I really did not want to do this.
[He learned the blue orb trick from how his grandpa basically orb'd him and Tommy a few years back, and he uses it now.]
no subject
Or his magic, stolen, his brain supplies, and that's enough to make him tear at the magic around him violently, growing extra spikes and claws in an attempt to get a grip on it, still trying to get at the thief. Because if Billy's magic is here, where's Billy?]
Put me down and tell me where my boyfriend is right now or I swear, when I get out of here I will take you apart slowly.
no subject
I'm right here!
[Okay, he has to get a handle on this, he has to fix this, but first thing's first-]
We have to get you somewhere that you can't hurt anyone else.
no subject
[One last attempt at tearing his way out of the blue glow around him (and he shouldn't be concerned but he is, Billy's magic is too powerful and he's just about willing to trust his Billy with it again but anyone else having it is terrifying), and he leans forward against the side of the bubble, glaring at the imposter-Billy.
Somewhere else. That's not a horrifying thought, either.]
Not there. You try and take me back to Mother, I swear, I will find a way out and I will find you. And if Billy's hurt, at all, you won't even leave a smear when I'm done.
no subject
Wow.
[He rubs his face with his hands, flinches, groans. This is going to be impossible, isn't it? He doesn't know how to fix this.]
Well, Billy's hurt, but man, it's not going to be me suffering tomorrow because of it.
[Hopefully this will only last-
Not long. Billy is aiming for not long.]
no subject
What have you done to him?
[He stays still, though, anger settling to the kind of cold built-up rage he gets when Billy's involved. He's not going anywhere now, sure... but eventually they'll have to let him out of this bubble he's in, right? Might as well save his energy a little until then.]
no subject
[Made him regret some things but that's all self inflicted. Nothing bad, really.
Well.
Nothing awful.
Lately.
In the past week.]
no subject
So what are you going to do with me? Keep me in a bubble forever?
[He even manages a fairly impressive sneer. Because if this isn't Billy, he won't have nearly as much control as Billy's learnt, so he figures maybe a couple of days at most and he's out. Hours, more likely.]
no subject
Until I can figure out how this rage thing works, yeah.
[He puts his hands out and the orb floats, and up, up they go. This will help. Getting them out of the city for a while, right? And if the bubble pops, well, Billy can lead Teddy on a wild everglade goosechase.]
