Everybody was Kung Fu fighting
WHO: Kaneki + a bunch of people he agreed to train with
WHERE: Any place with a porter, honestly. Kaneki can go around.
WHEN: All through the month.
WHAT: Kaneki asked for help, and help he got
WARNINGS: Thoughts of CANNIBALISM (opt-out can be found here), some violence, chances of blood. Tba. I’ll add more headers as necessary as well.
ANNIE Leonhart
[ Annie and Kaneki already meet once a week. They speak often, which is nice, and Kaneki does see her as a friend, even if he inevitably keeps some distance from her due to his own nature. After that Monday about the hacker and he found out she could turn into a titan (honestly, Titans are still not a reality Kaneki has faced, he still doesn’t know for sure what it entails completely) he’d like to think he understands her a bit better. Her reasons, the way she carries herself.
She is a friend, he concludes.
So there is still a lot of fear to approach her. A lot of fear to tell her certain things, and a lot of fear that it’ll crumble down if those things are found out. Because after all, it’s something Touka-chan made very clear: if someone finds out, they have to die, or their peace will be threatened. Not to mention, Kaneki can never tell someone outright “By the way, my diet consists of human flesh and blood, my coffee has blood to curb my hunger, and human flesh is better than anything I have ever experienced in this world, so it’s delicious and I can’t even pretend it’s not”. That would go well.
Sitting at the entrance of the warehouse, coffee in hand, communicator in other, Kaneki arrived earlier about twenty minutes. He is a bit nervous and probably regretting it a bit. Annie has been kind enough and offered to help him train, but he is still… thinking about what he got himself into. Can he even do this? What if something bad happens? What if he does something bad?
With a sigh, Kaneki looks up at the sky, taking a sip of his bloodied coffee (quite literally). At least he fed, so there is no risk of him getting hungry.
It’ll be fine.
Yeah. ]

[ Kaneki is always punctual when it comes to meet another person, though when it’s someone he never met before, he decides it’s for the best to come earlier. Thirty minutes earlier. Certainly he regrets it after waiting for twenty minutes, but it’s alright, he is also patient and 30 minutes isn’t that much.
With a sigh, he looks at his communicator before he puts it back in his bag and takes a sip of the coffee he brought along. He is wearing gym clothes so he can work a sweat, but he didn’t leave home without his eyepatch; Kaneki is fed, so there is no risk of his eye reacting, but he also knows the eye reacts to wounds. He doesn’t want anyone seeing that.
Training with someone who isn’t a ghoul is a HUGE risk. He knows he might suddenly do something he shouldn’t and he knows there is a lot to say about his “super-strength” (ghoul strength, actually), as well as his sturdiness. So far he only fought ghouls, but humans with superpowers? How will a ghoul body react to that?
Oh, he is making himself nervous. Perfect.
With a sigh he pulls the communicator from his bag again to take a look at the network and the messages. He shouldn’t have come so early. ]

[ Good news everyone, this time Kaneki won’t fight a person! So while he is usually so worried that he might do something wrong and hurt the person helping him train, this time around Kaneki is relieved to know he will be fight… ghosts? Well, he didn’t understand very well, but the other person said he could summon things to attack Kaneki with. He will soon find out what it means.
Waiting by the park at the set time, Kaneki holds a bag over his shoulder and a coffee cup on the other. He is almost done drinking his coffee and is fed, also set up to work out a bit. Though still very nervous, he tries to remain positive. It hasn’t gone wrong so far, so maybe it’ll keep being so.
The nervousness, though, it’s not just about him sparing with another person, but also because meeting new people is hard. He is a bit awkward, but he will always be polite, at least. ]
GREY
[ Kaneki is well fed, and is currently drinking coffee (he added a... small spice to it). His eyepatch is always covering his eye and he is currently wearing gym clothes. The spot he picked for this is far away from houses and almost no one comes, which is good, but he doesn't think by standers will be a problem if he is in control of his hunger.
Though he was so kind to offer, Kaneki isn't sure how he is going to spar with this person. After all, he doesn't have super-strength and... kaneki might hurt him real bad. It's not a good idea, it isn't. he knows that. But he also figures he can train on how not to use his strength during a fight, maybe.
With a sigh, the ghoul takes a sip of his coffee while he waits for a bit longer. This will be hard. ]
BRENDA del Vecchio
[ It's the first time Kaneki came to the school; because he is 18 (even if he doesn't look 18, ok, we all know that), it was never of his interest to see the High School. It's pretty different from what he expected (and saw in movies) and pretty different from what he remembers his High School in Tokyo to be. However, he is pleasantly surprised to know they have a big gym.
Once he arrives, he stays by the door of the gym, waiting patiently. He tries not to look suspicious and given how boring and normal Kaneki looks? Most people don't even realize he is there, or just assume he is a student at school. ]
SCATHACH
[ Tuesday, as agreed, Kaneki heads to the downtown Dojo. He didn't even know that existed in America, but he guesses Westerns are always very interested in martial arts, if not only because of the movies they watch. kaneki doesn't mind, he finds it interesting and helpful since he is now going to need said dojo.
Once arrived to the place, the boy takes a good looking at the building, before he steps inside, clinging to his bag. Now, all he has to do is to look for the person he spoke to, and that hopefully won't be hard to do.
the thing that will be hard? Control himself. Even if fed, even if mentally prepared, Kaneki is still quite nervous about it, and that much is obvious due to the way he looks around. ]

Kaneki isn't hard to find. He goes to the location he'd been told. He's dressed in his faded orange coat, grey track pants, and shoes - they're the only clothes he owns. There's also a knife around his waist, but it's hidden beneath the waistband of his pants. He's not keen on anyone in authority seeing it.
He doesn't waste time. He comes straight up to Kaneki and reaches out to touch his arm. Apologies, if that's forward, but he thinks nothing of it. His hand lifts, then, in a greeting, and he briefly pushes up one of his sleeves to display the word 'hello' tattooed on his arm.
Come to that, his arm is covered in tattoos - all simple words, written in cursive, some with an added exclamation point or question mark. They're how he talks. Them, and his expression, which has pulled into a very slight smile. Hi. You've been waiting for him. ]

The boy, though, stops for a moment, blinking as he sees him showing the tattoo saying "Hello". Ah... this person... can't talk? it'd make sense why he didn't use Video, then. Kaneki though, smiles back at him; he is polite and gentle, and it's impossible for him to treat Grey any differently ]
Hello! Thank you for meeting me.
[ he guesses this can be hard to communicate but Grey probably knows the best way to do it - or he can use the communicator since there is a voice function that reads out loud the words it detects. ]
Is it alright if I ask what your power is?

Psychic Ink
[ He hands the phone over to Kaneki, and then lifts his shoulders in an expressive shrug. That’s what the file had said, but he doesn’t know what it means. Or what the powers do. They’re probably nothing to do with sparring, though, and Grey doesn’t think that ought to stop them. He jerks his head to the side, looking at Kaneki quizzically. You’re still coming, aren’t you? ]
no subject
But then he wonders if it matters that much. After all, ken would never want to talk about his own powers.
The ghoul simply smiles back, giving back the phone before he starts following ] Let's go.

He follows Kaneki now. He actually has no idea where anything in the city is, so their destination doesn’t matter to him. When they reach it, though, he pulls his coat off and rolls it into a ball. He leaves it on the ground, and looks up. He has no shirt, and his chest and arms are thin. Despite that, they’re lined with hard muscle, and his skin is covered in tattoos. He holds out one arm now, pointing out a word to Kaneki - fight! Grey smiles slightly, bouncing on the balls of his feet. He’s ready for this. He nods at Kaneki, his expression encouraging, and he lifts a hand to beckon the other boy. ]

When they arrived and Grey readies himself, Kaneki decides to take off his coat as well. Though he still has his shirt, it's quite obvious Kaneki looks like a scrawny kid who looks too young for his age.
Still, he rises his fist to protect his face, and decide to give it a try first. Kaneki moves in for a punch with his right and if that fails, he will quickly add his left from below; not using too much strength yet, simply to see just how much Grey can handle ]
no subject
Though, the first few blows aren't bad. He dodges the first one, instinctively, and lets the second one catch his jaw without attempting defense. He needs to see the kind of strength he's dealing with. It knocks his head to the side, but it's nothing he can't manage. Not yet. Grey follows his own momentum, leaning to the side and pivoting, and then coming back with an elbow aimed at Kaneki's shoulders. Following it is a punch aimed at his side, at the soft tissue beneath his ribs. He needs to test reflexes and endurance before he knows what he's dealing with here. He needs to see how Kaneki reacts. ]
no subject
However, it's as if it doesn't hit Kaneki. he doesn't react to it; as matter of fact, Grey might feel like the skin isn't soft at all.
Kaneki jumps to the side to avoid any upcoming attack, but his leg also moves to force Grey to fall, while Ken tries to gain some distance between the two ]

He's used to a metal floor, not the solidness of the ground. It stings. Grey ignores that, and springs back to his feet. Almost at once he falls into a crouch, and then sprints at Kaneki. At the last moment he bounds off a wall, aiming for a high tackle and trying to get his arms around the other. He'll see what match strength might be for his own agility, while he ignores the stinging sensation in his back. ]
