september: catch-all | ❝ she's a rebel, she's a saint ❞

WHO: Peter Maximoff & YOU
WHERE: Everywhere.
WHEN: All through September
WHAT: Porter Pizza grand opening (09/09) and various other catch-alls.
ETC: Hit me up on plurk ([plurk.com profile] valleyheart) if you want a starter that doesn't fall under the ones below, I'll be happy to write one for you or tag whatever else you might wanna hit me with too.

01. Porter Pizza Re-Opening (09/09)
[Peter did his fair share of promotion in the week leading up to the 9th of September, delivering flyers to most doors in and outside of Heropa. Maybe a little too aggressive with how they ended up just about anywhere, including people's open windows, but it's all for a good cause. He wanted people to get the memo and hopefully show up to support the pizza joint that threw him a job when he landed here, and the folks who got their shop trashed because they hired him. He's still a bit bitter about that, but has been funneling his frustration into other things. That's soon to include delivering pizzas once again.

Come Saturday September 9th, Porter Pizza opens its doors again for the lunchtime crowd to come enjoy free slices from noon to 2pm and then offers a variety of day-long, week-long and month-long specials. For the weekend there's also no delivery charge on account of Peter taking a hit for the team. So maybe a wee bit of guilt is lingering in him, leading to him hanging around the shop all day to hand out slices and loiter around between deliveries. For today only they're giving out free coupons to guests who stop by - for various goods like free pizzas, add on sides and drinks for orders made in person or for delivery. Everyone gets a coupon (with their free slice or any order after 2pm) but if you sweet talk the guy giving them out (aka Peter) he probably can slip you one of the good ones.

If you're someone who just ordered a pineapple slice though, he grimaces as he hands it to you and shames you silently for your choices. All other slices have a slightly biased chance of getting a better coupon, btw.]
En... joy.
02. Talking Shop
[Peter's had a few outings to try and up his wardrobe but today's just another attempt in the making. He has a penchant for silver things and that can be a little trickier to find, especially with his current 80s style. Which is slowly bleeding into 90s bit by bit, like a little retro hybrid who is really digging the plaid. Wherever he goes be it department or thrift shop, he'll be looking mainly at graphic tees and shoes but can be sold on other things on whim.

He'll be trying things on without really needing to use a dressing room, standing in front of any mirror and seemingly switching shirts magically before others in the shop. It helps to be super speedy sometimes, even if it's kinda awkward to be half naked in front of strangers. But it's not like anyone's gonna catch him that way.

Tying a flannel shirt around his waist, he surveys himself before looking to the nearest person:]
So how fat do I look in this, on a scale of one to five. Honesty's the best policy but be gentle. I had a big lunch.
03. Home Sweet Home (X-FAM/ X-HAUS)
[So finally Peter's gotten himself his own TV, and as a result has lugged the house's main floor one back where it belongs. It might not be as clunky as the ones from back home, but he's still pretty in awe by all the new features - one thing this place has going for it.

He'll be setting it up around mid-day while still in his pj pants, looking genuinely tired as he reconnects wires and cables and tries to test it to see that he's gotten it all set up properly. After which he will flop back on the couch, TV still on, and lounge up until he passes out - you stay up a few days straight and it kinda hits you like a brick wall when you least expect it. Thankfully he doesn't snore?

Someone please either watch TV with him or send him properly to bed. Just don't sit on him.]

The plaid isn't doing you any favours to begin with; can we ditch that one, and then ask me the question again?

[ he's trying to keep up with the speed; he moves instantaneously to him, though the clothes that he's trying aren't really to giorno's tastes. giorno has never had to wear graphic tees and sneakers having never actually experienced adolescence. in a way.

then again he can't just impose his sense of style on someone else. ]

What do you like to wear? In general. [ give him a list, if you can, and he'll try to help. ]

[ giorno makes a face at that. ] You can do better than jeans and tees. Comfort is one thing, but there are plenty of other things to wear.

[ silver accents. fine. to prove his point, giorno picks out some tasteful clothes. colorful, but with strong silhouettes and more streamlined cuts. silver accents. business casual, essentially, but looks expensive. and he remembers the way he likes silver, he'll even drop a silver-coloured sweater in there in fake leather. at the very least, he'll look like he actually knows how to dress himself and not one whose part time job is teenage superhero. (or is that more of a full time job?)

and, if he is still stubborn, he'll toss in a few graphic tees in the pile, too. ]

Try those.

The unfamiliar is often strange and terrifying, but eventually it settles quietly in your bones.

[ don't mind him as he checks the length of the jacket, the way it looks like on his shoulders. ]

See. Not so bad. What's your name?

[personal profile] tropism 2017-09-10 03:01 am (UTC)(link)
Giorno.

Alright, Peter. Thanks for trying it, though.

[ and he means it - after all he practically just chose a bunch of clothes for him without really consulting him firsthand; it's just a lot of what giorno thought would look good for someone of his build and height. ]

Have you been here for a while, by the way? [ as an import, hero ... everything else. ] Do you like it here?

Porter Pizza

[personal profile] stretchy_girl 2017-09-09 11:08 am (UTC)(link)
['Dude was FAST!' 'I ordered pizza and, like TEN seconds later there was this knock on the door.' 'Zippy little bastard.' 'I think I maybe saw a blur?'

Those were just a few of the things on Bwitter that had led Gemini de Mille to what would otherwise be an otherwise utterly insignificant pizza parlour in Nonah. Speedsters are a common feature in her world, a whole family of idiots who liked to call themselves 'Flashes' and if one of them is here he could be a serious threat or an opportunity.

So a new member of the team has joined Porter Pizza, she introduces herself as Sam, it's her first day and as it goes on she asks a number of questions, many of them subtly relating to Peter while he's busy out front. When it quietens down a little, she finally takes her chance to meet the man she's come here to see.

Sam looks calculatingly through the kitchen window at the silver haired young man serving the pizza to customers, and after a moment her bust swells slightly, pulling the white t-shirt she wears even tighter, the zipper on her red company jacket descending an inch. That should do it. Picking up a pile of fresh boxes, Sam pushes through the door and walks over, smiling as she plonks the fresh supply down next to Peter.]

Hey, are you Peter?

[Sam catches the slip, a typical guy assumption, but lets it slide, it wouldn't be in her character to argue.]

That's me! [She grins widely, leaning against the counter and looking Peter up and down as if she likes what she sees, pretending to ignore the mishap with the old lady.]

So are you gonna let me in on the secret of how this place is so fast with its deliveries? Everybody else said to talk to you. [She pouts slightly, clearly curious about how things go on round here and definitely interested in you Peter.]

stretchy_girl: (Default)

[sorry for the wait, still on semi-hiatus]

[personal profile] stretchy_girl 2017-09-26 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sam is a direct girl Peter, and her smile says she's clearly into you. The flow of customers has abated for the moment, and Sam unzips her outer jacket, the warm red garment a bit too hot for wear inside. That and it'll give Peter a better view of the tight shirt she wears.]

You? [Sam cocks her head curiously, taking the bait.] Such as?

[ Harold was clothes shopping, Bear in his service vest platzed beside him with his muzzle on his paws, looking bored. The dog may have been watching Peter, his muzzle and ears providing him feedback that his eyes couldn't track. But as the dog couldn't talk or even reason over what was happening, Harold was completely oblivious to what the speedster was doing.

At least until the younger man called out and asked for a fashion opinion.

Given the fact that Harold was dressed in a plaid suit jacket, overtop a plain brown corduroy vest that tied into one of the narrow plaid stripes, his trousers a burnt umber that tied to another stripe and his shirt and tie used to pull the entire outfit together; he may be something of an expert on plaid.

Raising an eyebrow, he set down the dress shirt he'd been considering and stared at Peter a moment. ]

Setting aside the fashion faux paux that is using a shirt as a ... [ he fluttered a hand before deciding on ] belt, you're calling attention to your core in an unflattering manner. Put the shirt on the way it's meant to be worn and ... [ Harold studied the colors in the plaid pattern and then slowly limped over to a table of t-shirts. They were nothing he would wear but he found one with some currently hot label blazoned across the chest and lifted it up.

The primary color of the shirt was a complementary color to the plaid pattern but the label was printed in a tone that tied perfectly to a thin stripe in the plaid. ]

This t-shirt with jeans and sneakers. You should be able to manage to get three or four different combinations; depending on your sneaker supply. Oh! You could also dress it up with loafers.

[ Harold managed half a blink -if that- in response to the quick change, his eyebrows raising; impressed! ]

Handy skill you have there. [ He admired, before limping forward to study Peter's reflection in the mirror. ]

Mmm, a three-quarter roll up the forearm I think, and unless you're wearing sneakers you should cuff your jeans. [ He advised, holding his arm out and pointing to a spot about an inch down from the elbow. ] Just remember to pick up a pair of black cap toes, no brogue. They'll go with everything.

They have the intricate stitching and decorative holes? [ He offered, to see if that helped explain the style.

Keeping his neck straight, as if he had a permanent crick in it or something, Harold turned at the waist, glancing around until he found what he was looking for. ]

Over here.

[ He motioned, pointing to a section of the store where they had shoes on display. It was a little high handed of him to expect Peter to tag along but sometimes Harold got like this. Especially when clothes were involved.

Bear, seeing his master move off, got to his feet and glanced at Peter with an expression of 'what are you going to do' before he trotted over to settle beside the man's left leg.

Harold picked up a pair of shoes and pointed to the tooling in the leather. ]
This is broguing. [ He explained, holding them up as if measuring them against Peter's age and the color of his silver hair.

Shaking his head, Harold put them down and scanned along the racks, bending over awkwardly and rummaging before he made a sound of triumph. Reaching into the racks, he pulled out he held up a pair of dressed up boots in a darker brown.

These he held up and then gave a small, stiff nod. ]

Your age, you can get away with an ankle high like this; in fact it's almost expected; and the darker brown works better with the color palette you're suited too.

[ It wouldn't even dawn on him that a conversation with a complete stranger like this is just .. weird. He is truly that socially awkward. ]

d33tached: (◖The glow inside◗)

1 (this is backdated af)

[personal profile] d33tached 2017-09-14 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
[D33 has been getting a little more liberal about how often he leaves the house lately. But, as a wise obnoxious man once told him, you should never reject free food. Though D33 does have a job of his own now and, therefore, the means with which to purchase his own food, the offer that Peter had given him of free pizza was a little too tempting to pass up. And, besides, Porter Pizza just so happened to be on his way to work.

[So, having left about an hour early or so, he decides to stop by, standing rather awkwardly in the middle of the place for a few moments and looking quite unsure what to do until eventually he approaches the counter and says to the young man standing behind it:]

Pardon me. I am looking for Peter Maximoff.

((Ooc: Lemme know if that's not the name Peter uses on the network - if he uses a different one just assume D33 asked for that name instead.))
d33tached: (✖ Then I drink the flood ✖)

[personal profile] d33tached 2017-09-15 05:20 am (UTC)(link)
Ah. [Again, he looks a little unsure of what to do here and clearly uncomfortable - that's D33 for you.] I suppose so, yes.

We spoke briefly on the network. [It occurs to him that maybe he should introduce himself.] You might remember someone posting under the moniker of "D33". [That's D-thirty-three - and seriously, couldn't this guy have just told you his name? And he'd given you trouble about not just saying what you mean.]
d33tached: (▰ I should've worshipped her sooner ▰)

[personal profile] d33tached 2017-09-17 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Hey, at least he's not calling him "Dee".

[D33 looks a bit surprised at Peter's enthusiasm, eyeing the case with something like suspicion in his eyes (but, really, that's just the way D33 always looks). The food within does look rather appealing, although-- is that fruit and cheese? He wrinkles his nose a bit at it.]

I suppose that was the pineapple concoction you were referring to on the network.

Strange.

[He crosses his arms over his chest, turning his attention back to Peter and then, despite how much he absolutely loathes being asked this question at his own job, says:]

I don't suppose you might have a recommendation given your apparent expertise.
